The inflammatory British Muslim leader who has called for Sharia law in Britain will lead a march for the same goal at the White House on March 3, he says. London’s Daily Mail reports that Anjem Choudary (left), who heads the Islamic supremacist movement called Islam4UK, is coming to the United States to preach because “Americans are the biggest criminals in the world today.” Two other Islamic firebrands, Abu Izzadeen and Sayful Islam, will join him.
The event is a rally, a call for the Sharia, a call for the Muslims to rise up and establish the Islamic state in America,” he told the newspaper.
Whether these three can enter the United States remains to be seen, however, given their connections to terrorists through the fanatical Al Muhajiroun.
Islam4UK is the website touting the goals of the rabid Al Muhajiroun, which is banned in Britain.
Islamic Supremacists
Choudary may the most full-throated, unabashed advocate for Sharia law in Britain. He is vehemently ant-British.
In March 2009, Islam4UK disrupted a homecoming parade in Luton, just outside London, for British soldiers returning from duty in Afghanistan. He has called British GIs cowards and a “vile parade of murderers.” He wants rank-and-file Muslims to cover for terrorists and believes in killing non-Muslims because infidels are sinning by denying Allah. He has even demanded the execution of Pope Benedict XVI, saying he should be “subject to capital punishment” because he “insulted” Islam.
His two sidekicks are notorious as well. Izzadeen is a former Christian whose name was Omar Brooks. He is part of the Al-Muhajiroun network. According to Family Security Matters,
On April 17, 2008, Izzadeen (also known as Trevor or Omar Brooks) had been convicted and on the following day he was officially jailed for inciting terrorism. The trial had commenced in January of that year. Izzadeen’s conviction related to comments he had made in the Saudi-funded Regents Park Mosque during Ramadan in November 2004. According to Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the evidence against Brooks and others had been found on a five-hour long DVD which had been recovered from the former home of Omar Bakri Mohammed, the “emir” of Al-Muhajiroun. Bakri had fled from Britain to Lebanon in August 2005. Izzadeen had joined Bakri in Lebanon but he and other Al-Muhajiroun members were deported back to Britain.
He was released in October 2010.
Sayful Islam, a local leader of Al-Muhajiroun, was one of the Muslim radicals who disrupted the homecoming parade in Luton for British soldiers in March 2009. “I am outraged that these soldiers paraded through the streets,” he told the Daily Telegraph. “They are nothing more than hired mercenaries, war criminals, terrorists.”
Al-Muhajiroun is know for more than its anti-British protests and statements, according to the Times of London:
Al-Muhajiroun was also known for its intimidation of Jewish university students with inflammatory leaflet-drops and radical campaigns that included distributing posters nationwide in 2000 claiming: “The last hour will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill the Jews.” As a result, it was outlawed on campuses by the National Union of Students in 2001.
Choudary Admits Truth About Islam
For his part, Choudary is clear about Islam and its goals. “You can’t say that Islam is a religion of peace,” Choudary told CBN News. “Because Islam does not mean peace. Islam means submission. So the Muslim is one who submits. There is a place for violence in Islam. There is a place for jihad in Islam.”
When CBN asked the Muslim leader what he thought of the subway and bus bombings in London on July 7, 2005, Choudary expressed his hearty support:
“For the people who carried it out, it was legitimate,” he replied. “If you look at the will of the 7/7 bombers Mohammed Siddique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer, they would be justified. And there are many verses from the Koran and many statements to say that’s the Islamic argument. And that is a difficult Islamic argument to refute. And there are many scholars who support that argument as well.”
Choudary says his group is merely following core Islamic teachings and that Islam is much more than a religion.
“This particular belief is more than just a religion,” he declared. “It is not just a spiritual belief. It is, in fact, an ideology which you believe in and you struggle for and you are willing even to die for, because you believe in that: That is your whole life.”
Choudary is nothing if not confident in his religion’s ultimate success: “The flag Islam” he once warned, “will fly over the White House.”
