A three-day world summit on global migration that concluded in Geneva, Switzerland, on January 25 undoubtedly will be providing further impetus for millions more migrants from every country in the world to inundate what’s left of the already-overwhelmed U.S.-Mexico border.
Leading the charge for the Biden administration at the summit is former Obama and Biden lieutenant Amy Pope, who now serves as the director general of the UN’s International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Geneva. Pope, who was one of the main speakers at the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) 14th Summit held January 23-25 at the Geneva International Conference Center, has been a key player in the open-borders movement for many years. From the start of her term as IOM chief, Pope made clear that her primary objective is to create and expand “more regular pathways” for migrants to flood the United States and Europe.
According to IOM estimates, there were about 281 million international migrants in the world in 2020, about 3.6 percent of the global population. In one of her first public statements as the new IOM head, she said that “we collectively, with our member states and with the support of IOM, need to build up more regular pathways. Whether they are labor pathways, whether they are other humanitarian or family reunification pathways, we need to ensure that people who cannot stay at home have a safe way to move.”
The Associated Press reported on January 22, the day before the opening of the summit, that Pope was launching an IOM “global appeal” for $7.9 billion because “irregular and forced migration have reached unprecedented levels.” However, in addition to the perverse open-borders policies of the Biden administration, much of the unprecedented levels of migrants rushing to our borders, as we report below, can be attributed to the massive financial “pathway” incentives offered by UN agencies in Mexico, Latin America, and around the world.
“Accelerating” “More Regular Pathways” — for 281 Million Migrants?
This “more regular pathways” nostrum, which is a mantra among the professional activists of the massively funded migration lobby, is echoed by their allies in the media. The official agenda for the opening day of the GFMD Summit gave priority to a panel discussing “options to accelerate the implementation of … regular and orderly migration pathways.” The official U.S. representative on that panel was Marta Costanza Youth, principal deputy assistant secretary for the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.
Like Amy Pope and Alejandro Mayorkas, Youth is one of the Biden administration’s factotums responsible for the current crisis at our disappearing southern border. And like them, she can usually be counted on to deliver nonsensical statements about how the administration is doing everything possible to render our borders more secure. In truth, as the unprecedented tsunami of migrants streaming across our border unequivocally testifies, the Biden administration is engaged in a full-blown operation to bring as many new Democrat voters as he possibly can who will be beholden to the Democrat Party and who can be counted in the next census for Congressional reapportionment to provide more blue districts.
Geneva: UN-Globalist Cesspool
Headquartered in Geneva, the GFMD serves as a central hub bringing together more than a dozen UN agencies, 193 UN member governments, and dozens of international NGOs to promote national and international policies that support worldwide mass migration as “the new normal.” Besides the International Organization for Migration (IOM), key actors in the GFMD process and at the GFMD summits include the Davos billionaire cabal of the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Wuhan virus spreaders of the World Health Organization (WHO), and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, a principal funder of leftist and globalist ventures. Add to that the World Bank (WB), African Development Bank (ADB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mayors Migration Council (MMC), European Union (EU), UN Network on Migration (UN Network), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and United Nations Women (UN WOMEN).
The Geneva-Davos New World Order
Geneva is a convenient place to hold these summits since not only is it the headquarters location of the GFMD and the UN’s International Organization for Migration (IOM), but it also hosts the headquarters of dozens of UN agencies and hundreds of international NGOs. According to the UN Geneva Office, “Today, Geneva houses around 40 international organizations, 180 permanent missions, and more than 400 NGOs.” That includes UN organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), World Health Organization (WHO), International Standardization Organization (ISO), International Labor Organization (ILO), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), International Bureau of Education (IBE), UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and the UN Program on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS).
Among the powerful NGOs headquartered in this famous Swiss city are the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), World Council of Churches WCC), World Alliance of YMCAs (WAYMCA), World Jewish Congress (WJC), Lutheran World Forum (LWF), International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Vaccine Alliance (GAVI), European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), and the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA World). Perhaps most notable of all in the Geneva NGO universe is the World Economic Forum.
Although the annual jet-setter extravaganzas at Davos tend to associate the WEF in the public mind with that picturesque resort village, the WEF’s headquarters is in Geneva. There the would-be Masters of the Universe and their legions of technocratic minions live in sumptuous luxury insulated from the horrific policies they are foisting upon the rest of humanity. Although Switzerland has a relatively large population of “resident foreigners,” these are primarily educated Europeans and American professionals employed by the UN technocracy and global corporations. The “progressive” globalists pushing the “welcoming” migration agenda for the rest of the world are not about to swamp their own nest with the planet’s “great unwashed.”
Mass Migration and the Schwab-Sutherland-Strong Network
Mass migration is a key component of the Great Reset program of Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum, which involves completely “resetting” all humanity economically, politically, socially, psychologically, biologically, morally, and spiritually. The WEF has been an indispensable promoter of the UN’s world government agenda, in which global migration plays a central role. The Great Reset cannot hope to succeed without first destabilizing the world with the “Great Resettlement,” which entails shuffling hundreds of millions of migrants around the globe. Mass migration always unsettles and destabilizes, which then makes it easier to reset everything under a whole new plan. Thus the world movers and shakers of the WEF are regularly treated to articles and presentations on the wondrous benefits of mass migration, such as “Why it’s time to celebrate migrants,” “The Business Case for Migration,” “Migration can support economic development if we let it. Here’s how,” “3 reasons all countries should embrace the Global Compact for Migration,” “Why it’s time to rethink migration,” and “Why we need a global understanding of migration.”
In 2019, the WEF and the UN formalized their decades-long intimate relationship when Klaus Schwab and UN Secretary-General António Guterres signed a WEF-UN Strategic Partnership agreement. In matters of migration, one of the most important individuals in the WEF-UN nexus is the late Peter Sutherland. Before he died in 2018, he had spent more than three decades using his considerable business and financial clout to promote globalization (he was a principal architect of the World Trade Organization) and to destroy national sovereignty, which he called “an absolute illusion.”
Sutherland, a Deep State insider, was the very definition of the “connected” man. “After World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab,” The Irish Times reported in 2008, “Peter Sutherland is the longest-serving member of the forum’s foundation board and plays an active role in organizing the annual Davos gathering.” In addition to his leadership role at the WEF, Sutherland could boast an especially high-powered curriculum vitae: chairman of Goldman Sachs International, chairman of British Petroleum (BP), chairman of Allied Irish Bank, European chairman of the Trilateral Commission, steering committee member of the Bilderberg Group, honorary president of the Transatlantic Policy Network, chairman of the London School of Economics, and member of the European Commission. He helped bring Communist China into the WTO and, with his Goldman Sachs, WEF, Trilateral Commission, and UN connections, helped build China into the global threat that it is today.
Sutherland was also a financial advisor to the Holy See and is believed by some Vatican watchers to have had an important role in the Vatican Bank scandal that helped push Pope Benedict XVI into his historic resignation, conveniently making way for the WEF-aligned, pro-migration Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio to assume the papal throne as Pope Francis.
In 2006, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan appointed Sutherland as the UN special representative for international migration. The same year Sutherland founded the Global Forum on Migration and Development, which, as we note above, just concluded its 14th summit in Geneva. He also served on the advisory board of the UN’s International Organization on Migration (IOM) and as president of the International Catholic Migration Commission. For a decade and a half he used his status as “Mr. Migration” to pound down borders and to enshrine migration as a “right.” In a speech to the globalist Council on Foreign Relations, he candidly admitted his “antagonism toward nationalism” and his obsession with political and economic “integration,” which is globospeak for world government. In fact, he stated, “a leitmotiv for me in political life has been the concept of integration and the antagonism which I feel towards nationalism.”
In 2012, the BBC reported, Sutherland told the committee on migration of the British House of Lords that migration should be used to “undermine” what he derided as “our homogeneity.” Europeans, Sutherland said, “still nurse a sense of our homogeneity and difference from others. And that’s precisely what the European Union, in my view, should be doing its best to undermine.” To further put his undermining schemes into action, Sutherland helped write the UN Compact on Refugees and the UN Compact on Migration and was a leading driver of the EU and UN policies that facilitated the migration invasion of Europe and the United States.
Another VIP in the pantheon of WEF globalists is the late Maurice Strong (1929-2015). In his eulogy to Strong, WEF chief Klaus Schwab wrote, “He was my mentor since the creation of the Forum: a great friend; an indispensable advisor; and, for many years, a member of our Foundation Board. Without him, the Forum would not have achieved its present significance.”
Those unfamiliar with the collectivist mindset of globalists might find it odd that Strong, an uber-wealthy, globe-trotting industrialist, described himself as “a socialist in ideology” and spent the last years of his life in Communist China, where he hobnobbed with top CCP officials, put together business deals, and was made a professor at Peking University. He worked closely over the course of more than four decades with leaders of the Socialist International, which proposes a “Charter for the Rights of Migrants” that supports the escalating call by radical activists (including globalists at the WEF) to claim for migrants who enter a country illegally the same rights as citizens.
Maurice Strong served as secretary-general of the UN’s first Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm in 1972 and then was appointed head of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), which was created as a result of that conference. In 1992, he was named head of the UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, where he played a critical role in launching the bogus “sustainability” concept into common parlance and in shepherding the global warming and Agenda 21 agreements into ratification by UN member states.
Global warming, now generally referred to as “climate change,” is falsely claimed by the climate cultists to be a major driver of millions of “climate refugees” worldwide. Agenda 21 has now become the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The UN’s International Organization on Migration has published Migration and the 2030 Agenda: A Guide for Practitioners, which purports to find migration “rights” in many of the 17 SDGs and 169 targets listed in the 2030 Agenda. Similarly, a UNESCO publication, Migration Without Borders, claims to find natural-law justification for the “free movement of people.”
Shortly after the UN adopted the Compact for Migration and Compact on Refugees in 2018, the UN Human Rights Commission ruled that “environmental degradation, climate change and unsustainable development constitute some of the most pressing and serious threats to the ability of present and future generations to enjoy the right to life.”
According to UNHRC member Yuval Shany, “This ruling sets forth new standards that could facilitate the success of future climate change-related asylum claims.” In other words, according to the UN, a “refugee” from “climate change” or “unsustainable development” in Syria, Brazil, or Nigeria could rightfully claim asylum in the United States. And, of course, there are plenty of ACLU attorneys and left-wing judges who are more than ready and willing to take up such cases to subvert our Constitution and our immigration laws.
The migration tidal wave will continue unless the UN’s aiding and abetting of the phenomenon ceases. As Todd Bensman of the Center for Immigration Studies has documented on the ground in Mexico, and as the UN’s budget documents show, UN agencies have handed out, and are continuing to hand out, billions of dollars in cash, debit cards, and other aid to migrants in 17 Latin American countries. However, they come not only from Latin America but from virtually every country on the planet.
Get US Out! — and Stop the UN Funding
The UN is providing a giant magnet to draw the migrant waves to our borders. It is aiding and abetting the migration invasion, which is truly an “existential threat” to our continued existence as a nation. Representative Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah), respectively, are sponsoring H.R. 6645 and S. 3428, titled the Disengaging Entirely from the United Nations Debacle (DEFUND) Act, to fully withdraw the United States from the United Nations and cease all funding of the UN and its programs. Every member of Congress has taken an oath to defend the Constitution and should support this legislation.
