June 23 is now “Independence Day” for England! In an historic, nail-biting, too-close-to-call referendum — following a raucous, rancorous, bare-knuckled, four-month-long fight — British voters went to the polls and did what most, supposedly, in-the-know “experts” said was unthinkable, impossible: They voted to leave the European Union.
Brits in favor of the “Brexit” (British exit from the EU) carried the day, by a majority of 52 to 48 percent. This was the exact opposite of the outcome predicted by many pollsters. In fact, early media reports on the vote count gave the “Remains” a 52-48 victory over the “Leaves.” The final result, undoubtedly, would have been even much more lopsided for Brexit, except for the fearful anxiety caused by “Project Fear,” (see here and here) launched by Prime Minister David Cameron, along with President Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, IMF chief Christine Lagarde, Bank of England head Mark Carney, and the EU/U.S. globalist elites of the Bilderberg Group, the Council on Foreign Relations, and Royal Institute of International Affairs.
However, a sufficient number of UK voters disregarded the dire threats of economic and social collapse, the sentimental propaganda of a “kinder, gentler, inclusive” Europe, and the false promises of “EU reform,” and took the bold step of saying: “Enough! We’re done with being ruled by autocrats from the EU headquarters in Brussels; we’ll chart our own course!”
Nigel Farage, leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), declared the victory for Brexit is a victory for “ordinary people, good people” against the combined forces of Big Banking, Big Business, Big Media, and Big Government.
“Ladies and gentlemen: Dare to dream, because the dawn is breaking on an independent United Kingdom,” an impassioned Farage told ecstatic supporters, after initial reports of the Brexit victory came out. “This, if the predictions now are right, this will be a victory for real people, a victory for ordinary people, a victory for decent people,” he said. “We have fought against the multinationals, we fought against the big merchant banks, we fought against big politics, we fought against lies, corruption and deceit. And today honesty, decency, and belief in nation, I think now is going to win.”

“And we will have done it,” the UKIP leader continued, “without having to fight, without a single bullet being fired. We’ll have done it by damn hard work on the ground…. And we’ll have done it not just for ourselves. We’ll have done it for the whole of Europe. I hope this victory brings down this vile project and leads us to a Europe of sovereign nation states, trading together, being friends together, cooperating together. And let’s get rid of the [EU] flag, [EU] anthem, Brussels, and all that has gone wrong.”
In a rousing closing, Farage boomed: “Let June 23rd go down in history as our Independence Day!”
