When the investigated become the investigators, how can we be surprised when the verdict is “not guilty?”
The United Nations’ World Health Organization (WHO) asserted this week that, according to its research into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is “extremely unlikely” that the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China.
But that declaration becomes shrouded in doubt amid revelations that one prominent member of the WHO’s investigative trip to Wuhan not only was the recipient of money in the form of research grants from the Chinese Communist Party, but also runs an organization that partners with the Wuhan Institute of Virology — from which it is believed that the virus escaped.
The WHO official in question, Peter Daszak, had previously urged people not to “rely” on U.S. intelligence for it is “wrong on many aspects” and “politically charged.”
Despite working with the Wuhan lab for nearly two decades, Daszak told the Washington Post that he had “no conflicts of interest.”
Daszak was awarded a $3.7 million grant for bat coronavirus surveillance and bat coronavirus gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
It should also be noted that Daszak donated to Hillary Clinton 13 times in 2016. He serves as president of EcoHealth Alliance, a research organization that has collaborated with WIV.

The type of research performed in partnership by the two entities raised concern among National Institutes of Health officials for its role in COVID-related research, as expressed in a letter by Dr. Michael Lauer, NIH’s deputy director for extramural research.
Lauer’s letter announced the suspension of NIH grants to WIV.
Wrote Lauer:
It is our understanding that one of the sub-recipients of the grant funds is the Wuhan Institute of Virology (‘WIV’). It is our understanding that WIV studies the interaction between corona viruses and bats. The scientific community believes that the coronavirus causing COVID-19 jumped from bats to humans likely in Wuhan where the COVID-19 pandemic began. There are now allegations that the current crisis was precipitated by the release from WIV of the coronavirus responsible for COVID-19. Given these concerns, we are pursuing suspension of WIV from participation in Federal programs.
At a conference sponsored by state-run media outlet China Global Television Network (CGTN), Daszak revealed that he “has been working in China in collaboration with Chinese scientists and the government of China for over 15 years supported by federal funding from the U.S. and federal funding from China.”
In other words, he admitted to receiving cash from China’s murderous communist regime.
Daszak has defended work with the Chinese Communist Party as “important.”
It was to be expected then that the WHO would exonerate China in its investigation into the virus’ origin.
“The theory that the virus was introduced into the human population as a result of a lab accident did not warrant future study,” said the WHO’s Dr. Peter Ben Embarek.
The Biden administration wants to wait to see the WHO’s report on their findings before rushing to make any judgment about China’s role in the pandemic.
“Rather than rush to conclusions that may be motivated by anything other than the science, we want to see where that data leaves us, and based on that, we’ll come to a conclusion,” said State Department spokesman Ned Price.
Since assuming office, Joe Biden has swiftly worked to weaken America’s position relative to China.
For example, he terminated a Trump executive order that had kept the communist regime and other foreign actors out of America’s power grid.
And his pick to the lead the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is a Deep Stater with unsettling ties to the Communist Chinese.
Of course, it was also Biden who rolled back President Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the WHO. The decision to keep the country in the UN agency and to continue funding it was pleasing to Dr. Anthony Fauci, whose National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases gave money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Joe Biden has made it clear that preserving America’s national sovereignty is not a priority of his administration. On the contrary, he’s rapidly turning the United States into little more than a client state owned and operated by Beijing.
