As the current Presidential election has thrown the nation into chaos and uncertainty it might be a good time to stand back and reflect on the larger trends that are causing the destabilization. Toward that end, it might be good to remember that technological revolutions spur social changes, from the printing press to the steam engine to the computer. As we transition from the Industrial Age to the Post-Industrial Age, what turbulence awaits us, and what dark forces are primed to take advantage of the coming chaos?
