In this episode of Conversations That Matter with TNA’s Alex Newman, Rep. Tschida discusses his role in defeating an application in Montana’s Legislature applying to Congress to call for an Article V constitutional convention (Con-Con), following the wording of the Convention of States Project/Convention of States Action (COS) model resolution.
Rep. Tschida was the original sponsor who introduced the COS resolution for an Article V convention. However, after doing additional study, he quickly realized the dangers of such a convention and testified in committee against the COS resolution. He withdrew his support for it and urged the committee to likewise defeat the resolution.
In his interview with Alex, Tschida emphasizes that a Con-Con, or so-called “convention of states,” is suspect because of those financing it (including George Soros), and explains that a Con-Con is not the right tool for the job of reining in the federal government—if our elected officials don’t follow the Constitution now, why would they follow a revised Constitution?
