Transgender violence has again reared its head, this time in Greenville, South Carolina. A man claiming to be a woman stabbed an employee at Miracle Hill emergency women’s shelter after being told that he was being evicted from the shelter for an unspecified rule violation. Michelle Silva Perez, 34, a biological male, reportedly attacked the female employee with what has been described as a sword.
The employee survived the attack, but her internal organs were exposed. She was taken to a local hospital for life-saving surgery. Perez was arrested and is now in custody in the Greenville County Detention Center, in the male section of the jail, even though he’s reportedly “transitioning” into a female.
The shelter was run by Miracle Hill Ministries, a Christian non-profit in the Greenville area that is specifically for women and mothers with young children.
“In the morning hours of July 18, 2024, one of our staff members was attacked by a former guest in the parking lot of our women’s emergency shelter in Greenville. This guest had disqualified themself from our program the night before for not following the guidelines of the facility,” read a statement from Ryan Durek, Miracle Hill’s CEO.
Perez’s transgenderism was, apparently, not the reason for his eviction.
“We found out last night that this attacker, who had been a resident at Shepherd’s gate for a few weeks, was in fact a male. Let me assure you that we did not know this or suspect it, and Shepherd’s gate followed all their procedures for intake appropriately,” the statement continued. “All documentation was provided to ensure this individual was a viable candidate to stay in our women’s facility. Had we known, we would have worked to accommodate this individual differently.”
Video of the incident purportedly showed Perez ambushing the victim and violently pushing her to the ground before attacking with the aforementioned sword. The video reportedly showed that the victim’s organs were exposed.
“We, as believers, are choosing to trust the Lord now more than ever. We know that Jesus has our back,” Durek’s statement said.
Add this barbaric attack to what is quickly becoming a wave of violence committed by transgender individuals. Earlier this month, a gender-confused teen was arrested for shooting her mother and her mother’s boyfriend because they weren’t enthusiastic enough in supporting her “transition.” In June, another transgender person, Mia Bailey, stands accused of murdering her parents in Washington City, Utah. And last year, of course, 28-year-old transgender person, Audrey Hale, murdered six at the Covenant Christian School in Nashville, Tennessee.
Perhaps these vicious incidents are part of a larger mental-health issue that transgender advocates don’t really want to address. Maybe it’s not just an issue of being born in the “wrong body,” but a serious sickness which the LGBT-friendly media would rather ignore than report on. Media accounts of this event refer to Perez as a woman; he is not. He is a man – a very troubled and, in this instance, very violent man.
