Next week, The New American magazine will be attending two significant events: the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and the Fifth International Crisis Summit (ICS) in Washington, D.C. The planned coverage underscores our commitment to providing essential insights into the ideological foundations of both the conservative and medical freedom movements from a constitutional perspective. As always, our reporting will reflect the values of limited government, constitutional freedoms, and personal responsibility, offering our audience unmatched analysis and understanding of the conservative movement’s trajectory, as we will be closely monitoring the adherence of our nation’s leaders to these foundational principles.

CPAC, touted as the “largest and most influential gathering of conservatives in the world,” has been hosted by the American Conservative Union since 1974, providing a platform for elected officials, activists, and journalists to discuss the pressing issues confronting our nation and the world and work out solutions to solving them.

CPAC has firmly evolved into a principled pro-Trump force. Last month, CPAC “enthusiastically” endorsed Trump for president, arguing that he is the candidate who “can accomplish what is needed to put America back on track” and take on the “extreme leftist Marxists” that have infiltrated virtually every single “sacred institution” in America. Speaking recently with former Trump advisor Steve Bannon on War Room, CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp reaffirmed his support for the president, saying, “CPAC is not neutral on Donald Trump. We’re all in,” adding that the president will be featured as a key speaker for the 14th time, breaking previous attendance records.

Among other strong Trump allies speaking at the conference are Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake, Representatives Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Kat Cammack (R-Fla.), Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), and Mark Greene (R-Tenn.), as well as members of the former Trump administration including Tom Homan, Steve Bannon, Dave McCormick, Kash Patel, KT McFarland, Richard Grenell, and Hogan Gidley. Other notable speakers are Senators JD Vance (R-Ohio) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Al.); former presidential candidates Vivek Ramaswamy, Dr. Ben Carson, and Rick Santorum; Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton; founder and former CEO of Operation Underground Railroad Tim Ballard; former leader of the U.K. Brexit Party Nigel Farage; former British Prime Minister and MP Liz Truss; and numerous media personalities such as Megyn Kelly, Mark Levin, Jack Posobiec, and others.

Sharing the location and timing with CPAC is the Fifth International Crisis (formerly Covis) Summit, a grassroots organization of physicians, scientists, politicians, and lawmakers. Founded in September 2021, the ICS initially gathered non-establishment scientists challenging Covid restrictions and mandates in Europe. This year, the ICS will be focusing on “public policy, domestic and international,” according to the Malone Institute, which helped organize the event. According to the summit agenda seen by The New American, the list of 39 speakers includes Members of European Parliament Christine Anderson (Germany), Rob Roos (the Netherlands), Cristian Tehreş (Romania), and Ivan Sinčiĉ (Croatia); Mexican Senator Rafael Espino; as well as experts in various fields from the United States, Europe, Canada, and Australia. The topics of discussion will range from the Covid vaccine aftermath and excess deaths to medical censorship and attacks on national sovereignty by international organizations.
