The Open Society Foundations (OSF), an organization founded by communist Hungarian billionaire George Soros, might soon find itself facing terrorism and other criminal charges if federal prosecutors carry out the directive of a top Justice Department (DOJ) official.

A DOJ lawyer, The New York Times reported today, “has instructed more than a half dozen” prosecutors “to draft plans” to probe the far-left subversive outfit.

The directive is the latest example of President Donald Trump’s using the department to target his political enemies, the Times claimed.

Noting that Trump wants to jail Soros, the Times reported that Trump is pushing Attorney General Pam Bondi to prosecute former FBI chief James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James. James is under investigation for mortgage fraud, as is far-left Democratic Senator Adam Schiff of California.

“Separate investigations into them are being conducted by federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia, and grand juries may soon be asked to vote on proposed indictments in those cases,” the Times reported:

In recent days, Mr. Trump has revisited his grievances against Mr. Soros, long a boogeyman for the right, in part because he has backed progressive causes. After the killing of the right-wing activist Charlie Kirk in Utah this month, the president threatened to use the levers of government to silence liberal protesters and donors to progressive groups, including Mr. Soros.

Toiling for Human Rights?

Not surprisingly, the Times felt the need to defend the Open Society Foundations. Soros created it to support “democratic initiatives around the world, particularly in communist and formerly communist countries,” the Times claimed.

Now it toils “for human rights, democracy and equity.” Of course, the newspaper not so slyly insinuated, that’s the reason Trump and “some Republicans” oppose it:

Mr. Trump and some Republicans contend, without providing evidence, that it is a shadowy network promoting civil unrest, violent protests and property destruction. Liberals say the assertions are falsehoods aimed at stifling dissent.

Aakash Singh, a lawyer in Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s office, sent the get-Soros directive to U.S. attorneys nationwide: “California, New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Detroit and Maryland, among others,” the Times reported. Singh “suggested a wide range of charges for prosecutors to consider against the Open Society Foundations,” including “racketeering, arson, wire fraud and material support for terrorism.”

Singh “pointed to a recent report by a conservative watchdog group known as the Capital Research Center, which monitors liberal money in politics” to justify the probe and begin criminal cases. He expects the prosecutors to “submit their investigative plans soon,” the Times continued:

The report broached a contentious claim, stating that the group “has poured over $80 million into groups tied to terrorism or extremist violence.” It cited as one example al-Haq, a Palestinian human rights group critical of Israel. The report noted that the Israeli government declared in 2022 that al-Haq was a front for terrorist activity.

At the time, the Open Society Foundations criticized that move by the Israeli government, saying it was not based on credible evidence, and was intended to discredit and silence Palestinian human rights groups.

Chad Gilmartin, a spokesman for the Justice Department, defended the move. “This D.O.J., along with our hard-working and dedicated U.S. attorneys, will always prioritize public safety and investigate organizations that conspire to commit acts of violence or other federal violations of law,” he said.

In a statement, the Open Society Foundations denounced the accusations as “politically motivated attacks on civil society, meant to silence speech the administration disagrees with and undermine the First Amendment right to free speech.”

The organization said its work in the United States was “solely dedicated to strengthening democracy and upholding constitutional freedoms.”

Saying it condemned terrorism and denying that it funded it, the group added, “Our activities are peaceful and lawful.”

Maybe, but the Soros effort to elect leftist pro-crime prosecutors didn’t leave American streets more “peaceful and lawful.”

The Times observed that the DOJ spokesman’s remarks echoed what Trump wrote on Truth Social in August. Wrote Trump:

George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America. We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to “BREATHE,” and be FREE. Soros, and his group of psychopaths, have caused great damage to our Country! That includes his Crazy, West Coast friends. Be careful, we’re watching you! Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Amusingly, while reporting that Soros’ anti-American outfit “joined more than 100 largely liberal philanthropies to defend themselves and condemn political violence,” the Times was forced to confess that “the Soros family donated $10 million to Democratic efforts to redraw congressional districts in California, part of a nationwide political fight for control of Congress.”

Soros Judges and Prosecutors

Those donations are what makes the Soros Mafia so dangerous to law-abiding Americans.

Soros-backed outfits pumped $1.23 million into the winning campaign of immigrant Albanian Muslim Buta Biberaj to become Commonwealth’s Attorney in Loudoun County, Virginia. She became famous for jailing a father who showed up at a school board meeting to complain that his daughter was raped. And citing the leftist narrative on George Floyd — the career criminal who died in 2020 of a drug overdose while being restrained by police — she refused to prosecute a black man who attacked two cops during a traffic stop.

She lost a reelection campaign to a GOP opponent.

Soros-backed subversives also pumped $1 million into the election of Alvin Bragg, the New York City prosecutor. He prosecuted President Trump on bogus charges that Trump falsified business records. He also prosecuted former Marine Daniel Penny for saving the lives of subway riders when he subdued a maniac who subsequently died.

A jury found Penny not guilty of criminally negligent homicide.

The Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund has published a list of the prosecutors Soros pushed into office with his billions.
