Pro Golfer Mickelson: Schumer Is a “Traitor” for Wanting Non-citizens to Vote

Pro golfer Phil Mickelson said what a lot of Americans want to say: If an elected official opposes requiring proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections, he’s a “traitor.”

That’s what Mickelson wrote about far-left Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer on X over video of Schumer’s dishonest rant on the Senate floor about the SAVE Act. The Act has its problems, notably constitutional matters that Americans must oppose. But requiring proof of citizenship to vote isn’t one of them.

And Mickelson didn’t stop with Schumer. He also highlighted Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner’s remarks on illegals, and in another post, he backed White House aide Stephen Miller’s evisceration of the pro-illegal news media at a White House presser. Then, over video of CNN’s GOP analyst Scott Jennings, Mickelson challenged pro-illegal-alien Democrats to let illegals move into their homes.

SAVE Act

The genesis of Mickelson’s ire is Schumer’s opposition to the SAVE Act, a bill that followed President Donald Trump’s executive order, Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections. The order commands the enforcement of federal election laws that define the date and time of elections, when ballots are to be counted, and requires that only U.S. citizens be permitted to vote in federal elections.

The SAVE Act, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives 220-208 on April 10 with four Democrat votes, requires “documentary proof of United States citizenship” to register to vote in federal elections.

Among the acceptable forms of identification are these:

  • A form of identification issued consistent with the requirements of the REAL ID Act of 2005 that indicates the applicant is a citizen of the United States;
  • A valid United States passport;
  • The applicant’s official United States military identification card, together with a United States military record of service showing that the applicant’s place of birth was in the United States, and,
  • A valid government-issued photo identification card issued by a Federal, State or Tribal government showing that the applicant’s place of birth was in the United States.

As well, the bill says, “under any method of voter registration in a State, the State shall not accept and process an application to register to vote in an election for Federal office unless the applicant presents documentary proof of United States citizenship with the application.”

Schumer the “Traitor”

Democrats oppose the bill because they know illegal aliens will attempt to vote unlawfully, and if enough of them get away with it, they can swing an election.

Thus did Schumer rise in indignation on the Senate floor on Wednesday.

Claiming that “free and fair elections are the wellspring of American democracy,” Schumer falsely averred that “no administration has come closer to destroying that wellspring than the Trump administration.”

Schumer falsely claimed that Trump’s executive order “will coerce states to prevent millions of Americans from voting,” and that the SAVE Act is “one of the most destructive, dangerous voter suppression bills in recent memory. It is very reminiscent of Jim Crow.”

Jim Crow 2.0?

Not really, but anyway, Republicans “not only want to restore Jim Crow in the south, they want to have Jim Crow spread from one end of this country to the other.”

“I will not let this noxious bill, the SAVE Act, become law,” Schumer continued:

Every single Democrat is united against it. They need 60 votes. The SAVE Act is dead on arrival.

I’d like to say it louder so my friends in the House and the right wing can hear. The SAVE Act is dead on arrival.

Democrats and Americans see this bill for what it really is: a nasty, vicious attack on our democracy.…

We know the SAVE Act is not about securing our elections. It’s about suppressing voters.

It’s about making it harder to vote and easier to cheat.

It is despicable. It is damaging. It is beyond damaging.

It goes against the very foundations of our democracy.

Democrats will never, never allow the SAVE Act to become law.

Aside from the dishonesty in his jeremiad, Schumer missed the real problems with the act, not least of which is permitting a birth certificate to be used as proof of citizenship. The provision assumes that being born here confers citizenship, an erroneous interpretation of the 14th Amendment to the federal Constitution.

Lefty Replies

That aside, the pro golf tour fan favorite answered Schumer with a brutal stinger. He wanted to know why non-citizens should be able to vote.

“How is this fighting for Americans?” he wrote:

How is letting non citizens vote in American elections a good thing?

It is NOT!

He is not representing America , its citizens nor their best interests. He’s a traitor

But Lefty, as Mickelson is known, wasn’t finished. He also reacted to Turner’s telling fellow Cabinet members at yesterday’s meeting that his department no longer prioritizes illegal aliens over Americans.

“It shouldn’t have to be said but thank you for prioritizing American citizens!” Mickelson wrote.

Then he reposted video of Miller’s brutal evisceration of the White House press corps in a news conference this morning. Noting that the Biden administration released two Tren de Aragua terror gang members into the country, who then raped and murdered 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, as police allege, Miller excoriated the far-left reporters because “most of your papers never covered the story when it happened.”

“To the extent that you covered it at all, it was because President Trump forced you to cover it by highlighting it repeatedly over and over again. He had to shame you into covering it,” he continued:

And each and every one of you that sides over and over again with these MS13 terrorists, to the extent that you have the financial means to do so, you all choose to live in condos or homes or houses as far away from these kinds of gangbangers, as you possibly can. If I offered any one of you a rent free home, with no taxes to pay, in any of these gang neighborhoods, and I said your neighbors are MS-13 terrorists, or Mexican Mafia, or Sinaloa Cartel, or Tren de Aragua, I couldn’t pay you to live there. But yet you with your coverage are trying to force innocent Americans to have these people as their neighbors, and that one day their daughter may be abducted from their home and raped and murdered. So you’re not gonna get an ounce of sympathy from this administration or president trump for the terrorists who invaded our homes in our country.

Replied Mickelson: “What he said!”

On CNN, GOP contributor Scott Jennings asked the far-left panelists why millions of illegal aliens could march into the country with “no process,” but removing them requires “years upon years upon years of paperwork.”

“20 million in no process,” Jennings continued. “How do you get 20 million out with years and years of people fighting every single case.”

Mickelson recommended that opponents of deporting the illegals should provide their housing.

“Exactly,” he wrote:

Anyone who disagrees should open their homes to them especially the judges who are overstepping their jurisdiction. 😂😂 yah, I didn’t think so

Just this afternoon, Mickelson ridiculed U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett, who falsely claims that entering the country illegally is not a crime.
