In a move that surprised no one, former Wyoming Republican Representative Liz Cheney formally endorsed the presidential candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris last week. A supporter of President Donald Trump’s policies while in office, her perception that the January 6 incident somehow represented an existential threat to the United States driven by Trump changed her from a Trump supporter into a maniacal supporter of anyone running against him for a second term in office. That would include Marxists bent on destroying the nation.
Trump Dangerous
In a video presentation to some students at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy on Wednesday, Cheney reiterated her determination to do anything to keep Trump away from the Oval Office in November:
Because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for [Republican] Donald Trump, but I am voting for [Democrat] Kamala Harris.
In an interview on Sunday, she said it would be the first time she has voted for a Democrat in her life. She defended her sellout to the far Left through deflection — ascribing to Trump the very threat that Harris poses to the American Republic:
Donald Trump presents a challenge and threat fundamentally to the republic. We see it on a daily basis … somebody who was willing to use violence in order to attempt to seize power, to stay in power.
After losing her primary bid two years ago in Wyoming to Trump-supported opponent Harriet Hageman by a record-setting 37 percentage points, Cheney’s language turned poisonous:
This primary is over. But now the real work begins.… We must be very clear-eyed about the threat we face. I will do whatever it takes to ensure that Donald Trump is never again anywhere near the Oval Office.
Gun Control
Even if “whatever it takes” means ending irrevocably and irretrievably any support she might still have from the 80 million gun owners in America.
During her two terms as the sole member of the House from Wyoming, she managed to hide her contempt for the Second Amendment from the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund. It gave the now-discredited former representative an “A” rating in 2020, declaring:
Liz is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment and has earned your vote by protecting your fundamental right to self-defense from those who attempt to eradicate it!
She did support right to carry, but now endorses Harris, who calls anyone supporting constitutional carry an “extremist.” She opposed criminalizing private sales of firearms, but Harris intends to expand background checks even to sales between private individuals.
Cheney did oppose government bans and confiscation of firearms. However, she now endorses Harris, who has declared:
I continue to call on Congress and state legislatures throughout America to have the courage to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, pass red flag laws, and make background checks universal.
So odious is Harris’ communist background that it takes dozens of pages at DiscoverTheNetworks.org just to review and summarize her lifetime sellout of America and her support of Marxists seeking to establish a sanitized communist dictatorship in its place.
But Cheney doesn’t care. In aligning herself with the radicals working to destroy the once-free United States, she has repudiated her the oath of office. She has sold out to the dark forces of evil that now inhabit and control the Democratic Party and the upper echelons of the federal government. Her abiding hatred of Trump and what she perceives he stands for has cost her all credibility with those 80 million gun owners and all others whom she deceived long ago into believing that she was a “conservative” protecting America’s values of freedom from government overreach.
