In yet another embarrassing moment for the pro-Harris leftist media, Politico laughably suggested that Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris has had nothing to do with the Biden administration’s failed, openly anti-American policies since 2021.
The website claimed that Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, the GOP vice-presidential nominee, “tried” to link Harris with Biden, as if Harris weren’t the vice president. Or maybe she really wasn’t the “border czar” who presided over an illegal-alien invasion across the southwest border.
Meanwhile, in the first major-media interview with Harris, CNN is permitting her to bring along a babysitter so she doesn’t blow it. That would be Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, her running mate.
In other words, the Media Megaphone is working overtime to protect Harris not only from her association with Biden, but also from her own inability to handle reporters.
Politico Story
Perhaps the most noticeable feature in Politico’s attempt to cover for Harris was the website’s changing its original headline, as Ace of Spades and many on X noted.
“‘Our corrupt leadership’: Vance tries to tether Harris to Biden during Michigan rally,” the headline originally said. That line remains Politico’s X post.
The new headline: “Vance warns of China’s influence during Michigan rally.”
Be that as it may, the article complains that Vance is “attacking” Harris. The article begins:
Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance started his Rust Belt sweep this week by attacking Vice President Kamala Harris’ record on the economy and pushing a message of protecting American jobs in the battleground state of Michigan — a key swing state that polls show Harris is leading in.
Speaking at a rally in Big Rapids, Michigan, former President Donald Trump’s running mate tried to tie Harris to the Biden administration’s policies — saying at one point that “Kamala Harris has been calling the shots” — while also warning of China’s emergence as an economic superpower that’s taking jobs away from the U.S.
Vance’s job as veep candidate is to attack Harris.
Dismay and Ridicule Ensue on X
Western Lensman quoted Biden domestic policy chief Susan Rice, who was President Barack Hussein Obama’s national security advisor. Kamala Harris “has been an integral architect and executor of the policies of the Biden-Harris administration,” she said. To suggest otherwise is “not only false, it’s frankly somewhat bizarre and offensive.” Rice emphasized that Harris “devised” many of domestic policies of the “Biden-Harris agenda.”
“How dare Vance insinuate that Harris is tethered to Biden,” Resist CBDC added.
Wrote another: “Reminder that you don’t hate the media nearly enough.”
Elias Atienza observed:
What’s funny is that they rewrote the headline but still have this sentence. Vance “tried to tie Harris to the Biden administration’s policies” as if Harris is not the current VP and the second highest ranking official in the U.S.
Another user wrote that he’d “never suspect” Harris and Biden are linked. And, hilariously, X users attached a community note to Politico’s post:
The headline states “JD Vance tries to tether Harris to Biden.” Harris is currently President Biden’s Vice President.

CNN Interview
Still more evidence that the leftist media are protecting Harris is CNN’s report that Harris will sit for an interview tomorrow … with Walz at her elbow to put the dressing on her word salad. CNN reported:
The 37 days since her candidacy began have generated a swell of enthusiasm and momentum for Harris, including at last week’s convention in Chicago. But her lack of a formal news conference or interview has generated criticism from her Republican rivals. Thursday’s interview fulfills a vow she made earlier in August to schedule a sit-down before the end of the month. …
The interview will present Harris with the first chance to elucidate her position on various domestic and foreign issues during a campaign that has so far been heavy on vibes but light on concrete policy. She will also have a chance — if she chooses — to explain how her positions might differ from Biden.
But CNN further explained that her interview with NBC’s Lester Holt in 2021 was a disaster.
As The New American reported in July, Holt asked whether Harris, the administration’s ballyhooed border czar, might travel to the southwest to assess the damage done by her and the man to whom she has no ties, per Politico.
“At some point, you know, we are going to the border,” she told Holt. “We’ve been to the border. So this whole thing about the border, we’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border.”
“You haven’t been to the border,” a mystified Holt said.
“And I haven’t been to Europe,” Harris answered. “And I mean, I don’t understand the point that you’re making.”
Other Classic Quotes
Some of Harris’ other Periclean utterances include these:
- The governor and I and we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right? The significance of the passage of time. So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to create these jobs. And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children.
- The importance of community banks is they are, as they are called, they’re in the community, led by members of the community. They are people who understand the capacity of the community, the needs of the community, the culture of the community.
- Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine, so basically that’s wrong.
Harris also repeats a cultish chant: “To see what can be, unburdened by what has been.”
CNN allowed that Harris’ performance has improved since the disastrous appearance with Holt, notably in defending Biden’s disastrous debate performance against former President Donald Trump.
In an interview with the network’s Anderson Cooper, she “presented a strong defense of the president’s performance — being one of the very few Biden allies who publicly remained staunchly in his corner.”
Despite being “staunchly in his corner,” Harris is in no way “tethered” or even remotely linked to Biden or his policies.
