Americans got an eyeful of the Democratic Party on the first night of its convention to crown Kamala Harris its presidential nominee, and what a lollapalooza they saw.
The former House speaker and two television talkers confessed that President Joe Biden was indeed removed as a candidate in a palace coup. Biden himself stumbled through yet another teleprompter speech. The losing Democratic candidate in 2016, Hillary Clinton, claimed that Harris loves kids and families — as a van that offers free abortions sat outside the convention hall. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer said, in so many words, that vice presidential candidate Tim Walz is just like a woman.
All in all, it was about what anyone who knows anything about the party would expect.
Biden Was Overthrown
Perhaps the most shocking part of the evening was the confession from two far-left mainstream-media people that Biden was forced out of the race by Democratic elites. As The New American reported in July, citing the New York Post, Democrats knew Biden would falter in his debate with Donald Trump, let him proceed with it, then threatened to use the 25th Amendment to the federal Constitution to remove him from office if he didn’t step aside for Harris.
“The word that everybody is using to describe tonight is bittersweet,” Chris Wallace said on CNN. “It’s just bitter…. I’m not saying Joe Biden is bitter, but, you know, it’s like you’ve been thrown out a window, and as you’re falling, you go gee, it’s nice out here.”
But Wallce wasn’t finished, and said the Democrats would say how magnanimous Biden was for deciding to drop out. And that would be a big lie:
No, he got thrown out a window and basically he was forced, you know, there’s going to be a lot of talk tonight about how generous it was with him … and selfless of him.
He was basically forced out by Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama and Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries. And I suspect even the fact that there has been this surge of enthusiasm since he left and Kamala Harris took his place — that’s got to be pretty tough, too. You got thrown out of a window, and everybody’s applauding the person who’s now in the room.
Speaking of Biden on another CNN panel, commentator Van Jones, a self-confessed communist, commented that “this is his moment tonight, his moment.”
Not really, replied GOP strategist Scott Jennings.
“Biden is known in his career as being one of the best eulogy givers at funerals,” Jennings said. “And now they’re making him come and give his own career eulogy.”
Continued Jennings:
I am anxious to see how they handle it. It’s a sticky wicket. [H]e was bullied out of this race after 52 years of service to the Democratic Party. And it wasn’t all about his age. He was unpopular. He was gonna lose. It was Afghanistan. It was inflation. It was immigration.
And he had to be dragged out by the fingernails. I’m sorry. He’s not here in a happy moment, OK?
This yarn that’s being spun in this hall that he was popular and selfless and handing on. No, no, no. It is the opposite, and everybody knows it. And yet, the Democrats are engaging in his theater.
Meanwhile, California Democratic Representative Nancy Pelosi obliquely admitted her role in the plot to overthrow Biden.
“He made the decision [to drop out of the race] for the country,” she said. “My concern was not about the president. It was about his campaign.”
Biden Blows It
When Biden spoke, he blew a key line once again.
“In its decision overturning Roe v. Wade that you heard earlier tonight, the United States Supreme Court majority wrote the following: ”Women are not with electrical … not allowed … not without electoral electoral … or political power.”
Biden discussed the 50-year fight “to give Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices. We finally beat Big Pharma!” he said, poking a hole in the air with his index finger.
In fact, as the Vigilant X feed noted, Big Pharma beat the Biden administration. Big Pharma raked in profits of $90 billion from China Virus vaccines in 2021 and 2022. And much, if not most, of that money came from taxpayers.
Clinton stepped to the podium to say “Kamala cares, cares about kids and families, cares about America.”
Meanwhile, outside the convention hall, a ghoulish scene unfolded, the New York Post reported. A Planned Parenthood van offered free abortions and vasectomies outside the convention hall.
The van “has two separate rooms where patients who filled out a registration form could get the procedure done,” the Post reported.
The organization had sent out a registration link on Thursday — and all 40 spots for the services were filled by Saturday.
Outside the van was a taco truck, as well as a stand run by the Chicago Abortion Fund, which offered patients goodie bags filled with face masks, candy, painkillers and cards of affirmation.
The newspaper featured a photograph of an individual in pink garb with spray bottles attached to a belt. “Abortion 4All” one bottle said. Said another: “Pro-Aborto.”
Yet another memorable moment on CNN was Whitmer’s assessment of Walz, the governor of Minnesota.
“I love Tim Walz,” she told a giddy and giggling CNN anchor. “So, my daughters were saying to me, you know, ‘He’s like a male version of YOU, Mom.’ And I thought that was so funny.”
