In yet another sign that President Joe Biden is too old, feeble, and mentally impaired to do his job, a radio host has confessed that she became a mouthpiece for the Biden campaign. It provided the questions she asked the octogenarian president.
After “resigning” from WURD in Philadelphia, Andrea Lawful-Sanders confessed the truth about her interview with Biden for her program called The Source.
The news is also more proof that the leftist media will do anything to keep Biden in the White House.
The Interview
At least give credit to Lawful-Sanders for telling the truth.
“The questions were sent to me for approval. I approved them,” she told CNN’s Victor Blackwell on First of All.
Continued Sanders:
I got several questions, eight of them, and the four that were chosen were the ones that I approved.
Blackwell said that a second host, Earl Ingram, host of his eponymous program in Milwaukee, asked “essentially the same questions.”
A Biden campaign spokesperson on Saturday did not deny that the campaign provided questions but said that “We do not condition interviews on acceptance of these questions.”
“It’s not at all an uncommon practice for interviewees to share topics they would prefer. These questions were relevant to the news of the day — the president was asked about this debate performance as well as what he’d delivered for black Americans,” spokesperson Lauren Hitt said in a statement.
The Biden campaign said later Saturday it will no longer suggest questions to interviewers.
But only after it was caught manipulating the pliable, Biden-loving media. The obvious observation is that it wouldn’t have stopped doing so had the scam not been revealed.
Even then, CNN observed, Biden mumbled and stumbled, as he did during his calamitous debate on June 27 with Trump.
“I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president — first Black woman — to serve with a Black president, proud to have been involved with the first Black woman on the Supreme Court,” Biden told Lawful-Sanders.
Amusingly, CNN observed, the Biden campaign ridiculed Trump on X after he asked a reporter in Hampton, Virginia, what his questions would be for an interview after a rally in Chesapeake:
“We wanted to hear more from Trump tonight. Our Mike Gooding was scheduled to interview the former president after the rally,” WVEC anchor Dan Kennedy said. “But just about 15 minutes ago the Trump team canceled on Mike Gooding after asking us what our questions would be for the former president, telling Mike that there was no more time and that the former president only wanted to talk about last night’s debate.”
Naturally, the Biden campaign ridiculed Trump on X:
A paranoid and overwhelmed Trump cancels his TV interview after asking the reporter what questions they planned on asking.
But wanting to know what a reporter would ask is quite different than providing the questions he will ask.
Of course, Team Biden had a ready explanation for the deal with Lawful-Sanders.
“It’s not at all an uncommon practice for interviewees to share topics they would prefer,” said Hitt (as noted above). The questions the campaign secreted to Lawful-Sanders were “relevant to news of the day.”
That explanation, apparently, wouldn’t be accepted if it came from Trump.
Anchor Fired
That aside, Lawful-Sanders “resigned” after the confession.
A part of “black media,” WURD announced that Lawful-Sanders didn’t tell superiors about the interview.
It “was arranged and negotiated independently by WURD Radio host Andrea Lawful-Sanders without knowledge, consultation or collaboration with WURD management,” the station announced.
The Biden-provided questions violated the station’s “practice of remaining an independent media outlet accountable to our listeners,” the station said. “As a result, Ms. Lawful-Sanders and WURD Radio have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately.”
That’s code for “resign or be fired.”
WURD Radio remains an independent voice that our audience can trust will hold elected officials accountable. As Pennsylvania’s only independent Black-owned talk radio station, WURD Radio has cultivated that trust with our audience over our 20-year history. This is something we take very seriously. Agreeing to a predetermined set of questions jeopardizes that trust and is not a practice that WURD Radio engages in or endorses as a matter of practice or official policy.
As its audience goes, the interview did have a bright spot for what Biden didn’t say: “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”
Democrats Worried
News of the set-up likely has inquiring minds wondering how many other softball interviews the White House or Biden campaign scripted with pre-arranged questions for pro-Biden “journalists.”
Not that any amount of help gets Biden through to November.
Democrats are increasingly worried that Biden can’t defeat Trump and want him to drop out of the race.
That worry, again, stems from Biden’s disastrous performance in the debate with Trump. “The alarm bells for Democrats started ringing the second Biden started speaking in a haltingly hoarse voice,” as Politico reported.
One top Democrat said “Biden is toast,” the website reported. “Democrats expressed confusion and concern as they watched the first minutes of the event.”
Another top operative said it was “time for an open convention.”
