Yet another undercover reporter has unveiled yet another hate-Trump subversive inside the federal bureaucracy.
This time, the far-left activist is embedded in the fraud-ridden Department of Education.
Travis Combs, branch chief for applied innovation and improvement, told a Project Veritas reporter that he and his colleagues permit illegal aliens access to programs. Thus, he said, the department functions as a sanctuary city.
He confessed that he hides what he does from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) by taking work conversations private on an encrypted messaging application.
Combs is the third federal bureaucrat and fourth individual to say he will do what he can to undermine President Donald Trump’s reforms.
Illegal Program
Combs explained that he oversees staffers “who develop professional development projects for teachers,” such as citizenship, adult education, high-school diploma, and ESL (English as a second language) programs.
Illegals can participate in his program “as long as they, like, follow the process,” he said. “So if they’re a DACA recipient, they have to follow the rules for DACA.”
DACA — Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals — is the unlawful program begun by President Barack Hussein Obama to keep in the country illegal-alien children who were brought across the border illegally “through no fault of their own.”
“If they’re illegal illegal, it’s going to pretty hard,” he said:
The one nice thing about the program that I work in is like we don’t ask status, um and we’ve, like, been able to keep that out of our federal statute, like, so we don’t ask them when they enroll what their status is.
Asked how Combs and his team of subversives get away with it, he answered, “Very strategically”:
We just provide guidance to [Congress] and … they’ll, like, put something in [legislation], and we’re like, “oh no, that won’t work for the program.” So then they don’t put it in.
Combs explained that he and his team must do “a lot of maneuvering” around Congress to get what they want, including hiding things in legislation, knowing that most congressmen don’t read it. “We just hide it … in the law, hide it in the bill,” he confessed. “They only read the part they want to know about,” he said. “They don’t read the whole bill.”
Thus, when it comes to asking an illegal for citizenship status to join a program, Combs and his henchmen do their “maneuvering”:
We don’t say that they can or that they should, or that they shouldn’t. We just leave it completely out. … If Congress actually knew that we don’t ask that, there would be a lot of … uproar.
Congress does know now. But, in any event, Combs explained why an uproar would ensue if Congress found out about the ruse.
“We would be, like, in the position of, like, being a sanctuary. You know they have, like, sanctuary cities? We would be like a sanctuary program where we’re spending federal dollars on illegal immigrants,” he said.
On that note, Trump has signed an executive order ending subsidies for illegals.
Sabotaging DOGE
Combs complained that DOGE “shut off everyone’s access to everything,” and is “in the building looking through everything.” Combs called DOGE’s audit “insanity” and, prompted by the reporter, likened it to a “bad movie” called “Democracy Falling.”
Complaining that DOGE has taken “the prime real estate” of senior officials, Combs said that “they’ve put software on our computers that, like, they track keystrokes”:
So, like, they know exactly what we’re saying in real time. Like, they put monitors on [Microsoft] Teams, so, like, they can listen to the calls that we have with, like, team members or contractors. … If you want to have a conversation with somebody you do have to take it offline. But you’re not supposed to.
Combs confessed that he and team members secretly meet over the Signal app to hide their doings from DOGE. “Everybody uses it” because DOGErs are tracking the team’s “work.”
And if DOGE discovers the subterfuge, Combs pledges to “go to the beach on the taxpayers’ dime.”
Other Subversives
In early February, O’Keefe Media Group (OMG) released video of an employee at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) who said he and his co-workers would undermine Secretary Kristi Noem’s policies and initiatives.
“If we … don’t agree with [Noem’s] priorities, there’s a lot of room for interpretation in terms of how we interpret what those priorities are,” Brandon Wright told the OMG reporter.
“Do you know what a septic tank is?” he asked. He answered:
It starts off with like a bunch of layers of, like, rocks. And there’s like different layers of rocks. So it like catches all the s**t and like filters into rocks and then sand and everything. There’s a lot of layers like that in government, and by the time the actual marching orders get to like me and below, we can filter it in a way that steadies the ship.
Before that, a loose-lipped White House employee, Byron Cohen, told an OMG reporter that bureaucrats at the Department of Health and Human Services would “crush” Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s attempts at reform by lying and inertia.
Cohen said he’s “hoping someone just puts him in a closet,” and that “there’s a good chance that the bureaucracy just crushes him.”
“And so, it’s not just a matter of, like, ordering people to do things you want to do,” he said, echoing DHS’s Wright. “Because they have ways that they can slow things down or block you without you realizing it. Like, people joke about the Deep State but, like, to some degree it’s real.… [T]he bureaucracy will do what is in the bureaucracy’s interest.”
In January, the Pentagon fired a consultant, Jamie Mannina, who claimed he was working with retired flag officers to undermine President Donald Trump.
