U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said again today that deported illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 terror gang member, will not return to the United States.
During a hearing of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Noem said that Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador who will be deported if he returns to the United States. Noem addressed Garcia, also credibly accused of smuggling illegal aliens and brutally beating his wife, under questioning from two of the Salvadoran thug’s biggest fangirls, Democratic U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen of Maryland and Chris Murphy of Connecticut.
Van Hollen and other Democrats claimed that Garcia was wrongly deported because he didn’t receive “due process,” and pressed Noem on the administration’s response to a U.S. Supreme Court decision that ordered the administration to “facilitate” his return.
Noem vs. Van Hollen
Noem stood her ground under heavy fire from the two pro-illegal-alien senators.
Van Hollen took on Noem first.
“I just asked you, Madam Secretary, whether or not you or the Department of Homeland Security are taking any action to facilitate the 9-0 Supreme Court decision to facilitate his return,” Van Hollen huffed. “This is a very simple question. Are you taking any action to facilitate his return, or are you not?”
Replied Noem, “This administration is following and complying with all federal court orders.”
Van Hollen: So you are facilitating his return?
Noem: Sir. Senator, thank you for the question. But what I would tell you is that we are following court orders, and that your advocacy for a known terrorist is alarming.
Van Hollen said, “I’m not vouching for the man.” Noem said he most certainly is, and said she “would suggest” that Van Hollen stand behind the victims of illegal-alien crime.
Van Hollen accused Noem of political speechmaking.
Noem vs. Murphy
Noem scalded Murphy as well.
Noting that the SCOTUS decision requires the administration to “facilitate” Garcia’s release and return, Murphy asked Noem “to describe steps you have taken” to do this.
“Abrego Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador, and should never have been in this country, and will not be coming back to this country,” Noem told Murphy:
There is no scenario where Abrego Garcia will be in the United States again. If he were to come back, we would immediately deport him again because he is a terrorist, he’s a human smuggler, and he is a wife-beater.
Murphy: You’ve read the Supreme Court decision. Does the Supreme Court decision not require you to facilitate the return of Mr. Abrego Garcia?
Noem: The Trump administration is complying with all court orders and judges’ orders.
Murphy: Does the Supreme Court order require you to facilitate the return of Mr. Abrego Garcia?
Noem reiterated that Garcia is not an American, and that “it is up to the president of El Salvador to make the decision on if he is coming back.”
The president, hard-as-nails Nayib Bukele, has said he will not return Garcia to the United States. Like Noem, he calls Garcia a “terrorist.”
Once again, Murphy proved the truth of what he said about Democrats and illegals. They’re “the people we care about most.”
The Latest on Garcia
Murphy’s pro-illegal alien sympathies aside, the latest on Garcia almost certainly shows that he’s a criminal illegal alien of the type President Donald Trump vowed would be deported.
As The New American reported yesterday, citing ABC News, federal investigators interviewed the owner of the SUV in which Garcia was stopped in 2022. He was transporting eight men with no identification or luggage from Texas to Maryland for jobs, he told the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Garcia confessed that he was driving on a suspended license. He also said his “boss” owned the SUV, a black Chevy Suburban.
Now, the boss is talking.
Jose Ramon Hernandez-Reyes, now in federal prison for smuggling illegals, confessed to investigators that Garcia worked for him and transported aliens from Texas to other locations.
“Hernandez-Reyes told investigators that he previously operated a ‘taxi service’ based in Baltimore,” ABC reported:
He claimed to have met Abrego Garcia around 2015 and claimed to have hired him on multiple occasions to transport undocumented migrants from Texas to various locations in the United States, the sources told ABC News. The frequency and time frame of the alleged trips was not immediately clear.
But smuggling illegals hither and yon across the heartland is the least of Garcia’s crimes. Police in Prince George’s County, Maryland, have fingered him as a “validated” member of the MS-13 terror gang.
His wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura, filed two petitions for protective orders because Garcia beat her. In one of them, she claimed that Garcia told a relative he could kill Sura and get away with it.
