As far-left Democratic elected officials escalate their violent rhetoric against Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the party’s ex-officio street army is escalating its attacks on ICE facilities. And murder is not off the table: Since July 4, 15 crazed leftists have been charged with crimes ranging from the attempted murder and assault of federal officers to vandalizing federal property and conspiracy and obstruction.
But the prelude to these attacks are commentary from top Democrats, who have called ICE agents and other federal officers “terrorists” and Nazis. The vice mayor of a small town near Los Angeles even suggested that Hispanic gangs fight ICE agents in the streets. A candidate for the city council in San Antonio called for the murder of those agents.
The angst among far-left, hate-Trump Democrats is palpable. So-called grass-roots party faithful are urging Democratic congressmen to get arrested and “be willing to get shot” to oppose Trump.
Texas Attack
Yesterday, federal prosecutors filed charges against 10 leftists in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
The criminal complaint against the goons describes what can only be called a terrorist attack, although prosecutors don’t use that language. On July 4, the Justice Department alleges, the 10 defendants attacked the Prairieland Detention Center for illegal aliens in Alvarado, Texas, just south of Dallas-Fort Worth.
The leftist gang attacked the facility with fireworks at about 10:37 p.m., the complaint alleges. Ten minutes later, “one or two individuals broke off from the main group and began to graffiti and damage vehicles and a guard structure in the parking lot at the facility.” The hateful graffiti included “Ice Pig” and “F*** You Pigs.”
Correctional officers attempted to speak with the vandals, who were hiding in nearby woods, apparently to no avail, the criminal complaint alleges. Wearing a green mask, one of the thugs signaled to the “vandals” with a flashlight. At 10:59, an Alvarado cop arrived at the scene, pursuant to a 911 call from the correctional officers.
Military Gear
“Immediately after the APD officer got out of his vehicle, an assailant in the woods opened fire, shooting the APD officer in the neck area,” the criminal complaint alleges:
The assailant in the green mask, standing near the woods on Sunflower Lane, then also opened fire at the unarmed DHS correctional officers. In total, the assailants shot approximately 20 to 30 rounds at the Correctional Officers. Police later recovered spent 5.56 caliber casings at the locations of both of the shooters. That caliber is typically used with AR-15-style rifles.
The shooting was captured on both CCTV and the APD officer’s body-worn camera.
Police later found a Franklin Armory AR-15-style rifle…. The rifle had a bullet jammed in the chamber.… A second AR-15-style rifle was found abandoned in the woods across from the Prairieland Detention Center, in the vicinity of spent 5.56 casings, along with two body armor plate carriers with loaded AR-15 magazines. A pistol magazine was also recovered nearby.
Johnson County sheriff’s deputies later caught the fleeing assailants with guns, ammunition, and military paraphernalia in their vehicles.
Five of the thugs “were dressed in black, military-style clothing, some had on body armor, some were covered in mud, some were armed, and some had radios,” the complaint alleges. “Additional firearms, magazines containing ammunition, and a total of twelve sets of body armor were found.”
Cops also found flyers with these communist slogans: “FIGHT ICE TERROR WITH CLASS WAR!” and “FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS.” “RESIST FACISM — FIGHT OLIGARCHY,” a flag said.
One of the suspects carried two cellphones in a “Faraday Bag,” which is “used to block certain electromagnetic signals, including phone signals and are commonly used by criminal actors to try to prevent law enforcement from tracking location information through cell phones,” the criminal complaint explains.
“Intent to Kill”
The 10 suspects are charged with three counts of attempted murder and discharging a firearm during, in relation to, and in furtherance of a crime of violence. They face 10 years to life in prison. A co-conspirator was charged with obstruction of justice and conspiracy for attempting to destroy evidence.
“It was a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers,” said Nancy Larson, acting U.S. attorney for the northern district. “Make no mistake, this was not a peaceful protest. It was, indeed, an ambush.”
Also, on July 4, federal prosecutors in Oregon allege, four leftists attacked an ICE office in South Portland. One of the suspects is charged with assaulting a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon and possession of an unregistered destructive device. Two others are charged with assaulting a federal officer. One was charged with depredation of federal property.
Axios Report
Frighteningly, “grass roots” Democrats might be fine with the attacks on federal officers.
They’re telling Democrat elected officials to get tougher with the Trump administration to stop its mass deportations and other policies, Axios reported.
“The grassroots wants more,” the website reported:
“Some of them have suggested … what we really need to do is be willing to get shot” when visiting ICE facilities or federal agencies, a third House Democrat told Axios.
“Our own base is telling us that what we’re doing is not good enough … [that] there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public,” the lawmaker said.
A fourth House Democrat said constituents have told them “civility isn’t working” and to prepare for “violence … to fight to protect our democracy.”
Democratic Rhetoric, Threats
Unhinged far-left Democrats have, indeed, fortified their rhetoric into outright hate speech. Indian immigrant Representative Pramilla Jayapal of Washington has called ICE agents “terrorists.” Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz have likened them to Nazis.
And finally, the vice mayor of Cudahy, California, Cynthia Gonzalez, wondered where the “cholos” were — meaning the Hispanic 18th Street and Florencia 13 gangs — in the struggle against ICE.
Most recently, reported Homeland Security spokesman Tricia McLaughlin, San Antonio council candidate Matthew Gauna called for the murder of ICE agents. Guana deleted the post.
“We’ll see you soon,” McLaughlin vowed.
