The cyclist who filed a police report after an encounter with CNN’s Chris Cuomo says the testy TV talker threatened him for saying that someone with the Chinese Virus should not be outside … just as Cuomo’s brother, Andrew, the governor of New York, has ordered.
Cuomo threatened the cyclist on Sunday, but then made matters worse the next day. He complained he hates his job because the highly-visible slot on network TV means he can’t tell people what he really thinks of them when they upset him. And, he continued, he wants to beat them to a pulp when they really upset him.
The nasty exchange with the “fat-tire biker” ended in a chinwag with the local gendarmes, and yet another black eye for Cuomo and his employer.
We Will Meet Again
The Easter-Sunday dust-up began, the New York Post reported, when the victim was cycling by Cuomo’s new but unfinished home in ritzy East Hampton on Long Island.
David, as the Post identified him, was riding his bike on Easter Sunday when he spotted the hot-headed anchor and family on the property.
David said Cuomo was with his wife, another woman and three kids who were playing around on the property.
The resident said he stopped and sat on his bike “well over a hundred feet” from the property.
“I just looked and said, ‘Is that Chris Cuomo? Isn’t he supposed to be quarantined?’”
Yep. And he has been, at least some of the time.
Ever since he caught the Chinese virus, Cuomo has hosted his show Prime Time from the basement of his home in Southampton. On Tuesday, the Post noted, he said he still has a low-grade fever, and now his wife, Christina, has the virus.
“May I help you,” she asked, David told the Post.
He said he replied, “I’m riding my bike” — then started asking why Cuomo was there out of quarantine and not social-distancing from the group.
He said Cuomo then started toward him, coming to within about 40 feet.
“He said, ‘Who the hell are you?! I can do what I want!’” David said. “He just ranted, screaming, ‘I’ll find out who you are!’
“I said to him, ‘Your brother is the coronavirus czar, and you’re not even following his rules — unnecessary travel,’” the resident said.
“He just began to boil more.
“He said, ‘This is not the end of this. You’ll deal with this later. We will meet again.’ If that’s not a threat, I don’t know what is,” David said.
Cuomo is 49, David, 65.
Police Report
Cuomo unloaded on David the next day on Let’s Go After It, Cuomo’s show on Sirius XM radio.
“I don’t want some jacka**, loser, fat-tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk bullshit to me, I don’t want to hear it,” Cuomo raged.
A workout fanatic not shy about sharing photos of his highly-toned physique, Cuomo said he’s tired of not being able to tell schlubs like David where to get off.
“I want to be able to tell you to go to hell, to shut your mouth … or I will do you the way you guys do each other,” the muscled millionaire fumed.
After that, David called the cops, the Post reported.
They gave David “huge pushback” about filing a report until Cuomo’s major-league meltdown went viral. Then they “had a whole different attitude.”
“I think you’ll like what we’ve written,” a cop at the station told David when he inquired about the report.
Amusingly, Cuomo’s victim is “a lifelong Democrat and voted for Andrew Cuomo for governor, the Post reported, and that “he doesn’t plan on pressing charges … unless ‘I get any more feeling that this guy’s a threat to me.’”
Fredo Unhinged
This isn’t Cuomo’s first time threatening someone who rubbed him the wrong way.
Last year, after a fellow patron at a bar called him “Fredo,” Cuomo flew into an unhinged, F-bomb-laced rage and threatened to throw the fellow down the stairs.
Fredo is the weak, stupid brother of Michael Corleone, the protagonist of The Godfather franchise.
Said David the fat-tire biker of Fredo Cuomo, “sometimes he’s scary stupid.”
