If you’re going to attack and threaten to dox an old man wearing a MAGA hat in public, it’s probably best not to identify yourself and post a detailed account of the Trump Derangement conniption on Facebook.
But that’s what a crazed leftist woman did in Palo Alto, California.
Result: Her employer fired her, she wound up doxed, and town leftists were forced to denounce the unhinged TDS sufferer.
But importantly, the reaction might just show that attacking Trump supporters will no longer be permitted. Or tolerated.
Starbucks Verbal Assault
The trouble began for the 74-year-old Trump supporter in Starbucks when one Rebecca Parker Mankey, whom he did not know, verbally brutalized him.
The Palo Alto Weekly reported that she called him a “hater of brown people” and “Nazi scum.” She kept a promise to post the elderly Jewish man’s photo on Facebook.
Having attacked the old gentleman twice — she returned to the store to attack him again — Mankey rushed to Facebook to ask, “anybody in Palo Alto know this freak. He was sitting in Starbucks. I think he lives in Palo Alto. He will never forget me and will think seriously about wearing that hat in my town ever again.”
Then she asked her friends and followers to attack him the way she did: “If you see him in this hat, please confront him. You do not want to be the person who didn’t speak up as we slipped into fascism.”

“I yelled at him,” she confessed, and “yelled at him more about how it is not ok to hate brown people.”
Then it gets better — or worse, if you’re an old Jewish fellow on the receiving end of the term “Nazi scum.”
When I walked back by after picking up my lunch, he was still there. I went back in and yelled that I had changed my mind and wanted him to call the police because I wanted to know his name, where he lived, his wife’s name, and where his kids went to school….
I yelled and asked someone else at Starbucks to call the police. He wouldn’t call the police, so I called him a wimp. He got his stuff together to leave. I followed him to the register while he complained about me. Then chased him out of Starbucks yelling at him to get the f**k out of my town and never come back.
How deranged one must be to think someone the man’s age had kids in school is a question for the headshrinkers, but anyway, Mankey wondered why no one else in Starbucks joined her TDS rage. “The part that was really heartbreaking to me was that in a full Starbucks, I was the only person yelling at him. There were other white people there…. It is the duty of every white person in America to stand up to this every time they see it.”
Conservatives, the newspaper reported, saddled up and rode to the sound of the guns. They notified the woman’s husband’s employer and called the cops. Mankey got as good as she gave … or threatened to give.
Unsurprisingly, once the woman’s employer, Gryphon Stringed Instruments, heard about the attack, the business fired her. “Gryphon does not believe anyone should be harassed or subject to hate speech no matter their beliefs,” the company’s Facebook page says. “The opinions expressed and actions taken by the employee are not indicative of how we conduct ourselves at the shop.”
For his part, Mankey’s victim, whom newspapers identify as Victor, learned what many Trump supporters already know: Wearing a MAGA hat can be dangerous.
“There’s a fear in the air,” he told the newspaper of Trump supporters. “I hope this doesn’t start a trend of people getting in your face.” The “trend” began long ago, but in any event, he vowed to wear his MAGA hat, he said, “until North Korea (or another totalitarian regime) takes over our government.”
Hilariously, the chieftain of the town’s Progressive Democrats said Mankey “wanted to use her privilege as a white woman to stand up for those who are living in fear because of the hateful atmosphere fostered by Trump.” Her progressive outfit, she told the newspaper, “encourages nonviolent engagement to change the minds of racists,” although, of course, Mankey didn’t attack a “racist.”
Still, Mankey’s unhinged attack on the old fellow didn’t “follow these principles” or “reflect our organization’s political philosophy and approach.”
Another lefty in town was displeased with Mankey, but only because she “permitted herself to be pulled down into that muck.” And anyway, he told the newspaper, “the MAGA hat … is a symbol of hate and everything that is wrong with America today.”
Repeated Attacks
Trump supporters have faced a shocking wave of unprecedented political violence since the president was elected in 2016.
On top of that, Representative Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) has encouraged her supporters to harass Trump supporters and administration officials to drive them from restaurants. As of July, Breitbart.com had reported 639 anti-Trump attacks that involved harassment or violence, or condoning or encouraging both.
But the reaction to the attack in Palo Alto suggests that MAGA Country is fighting back.
