In closed-door testimony before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees on February 13, Tony Bobulinski, former business associate of Hunter Biden, largely repeated what he said in his opening statement, while elaborating on his meetings with former Vice President Joe Biden in Los Angeles in 2017.
Hunter Biden had 24-7 access to his father, and used the family name and power to line his pockets, Bobulinski testified.
As well, he confirmed that Joe Biden was the “big guy” in the notorious email that laid out how the Biden Mafia and its partners would split a boatload of money from Chinese Reds.
And Biden flat-out lied when he said he knew nothing about the doings of his drug-addict son’s planetary business empire.
Democrats had a conniption.
Daddy “Picks Up the Phone”
Bobulinski — former CEO of SinoHawk Holdings and a player in another company, Oneida Holdings — said the deal with China’s CEFC energy concern should never have happened because it is a subsidiary of the Chinese Communist Party. Yet Biden “enabled it.” Bobulinski said the “process” to ink a deal with the Reds began while Biden was vice president in 2015 and continued through 2018.
CEFC “successfully sought to infiltrate and compromise Joe Biden and the Obama-Biden White House,” he testified.
“He had a constitutional responsibility and an obligation to the American people to shut it down before it began,” Bobulinski said. “This is because CEFC had been identified as a known surrogate of the Chinese Communist Party by the U.S. Government and prosecutors in the Southern District of New York as far back as 2016.”
But the Obama-Biden White House did nothing:
It is clear to me that alarm bells should’ve been going off in the Obama-Biden White House and that Joe Biden should’ve been aware that his own administration had red-flagged CEFC as a tool of the Chinese Communist Party. This should have made any business transaction with CEFC a nonstarter.
Speaking of the meeting at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles during the Milken Institute Global Conference in 2017, Bobulinski said he landed a day before Joe Biden and met with Hunter. When he asked about the younger Biden’s interactions with his father and Biden senior’s knowledge of the CEFC deal, Hunter “was not shy about saying, ‘My father picks up the phone. I can call him from anywhere around the world. Do you want me to get him on the phone now?’”
“But he takes my phone calls any time of day, and I just take things to him,” Hunter told Bobulinski, adding that “I had built a successful franchise. My name was well‑respected around the world. People trusted me with billions of dollars investing in a variety of things.”
And I was asking him, “This doesn’t sort of make sense to me. I would think your dad has an army of lawyers around him that are putting a wall between you talking about stuff.” And he sort of just laughed it off. He was very emboldened, confident, that, you know, he had access to his father whenever, wherever he wanted.
Bobulinski said he met with Joe Biden “multiple times” in Los Angeles in May 2017 “to discuss the broad contours of business dealings.”
When he first met the former vice president, the two exchanged pleasantries about their families. Biden told the former Navy officer to “look out for my brother and son and, you know, thank you for what you’re doing.”
But Bobulinski was clearly perplexed that a former vice president and possible future presidential candidate would get involved in a deal with Chinese Reds so openly.
“How are you doing it?” he asked the Hunter’s uncle Jim, who was also there. “It doesn’t make any sense. Aren’t you guys concerned that if Joe does run for President of the United States in the future that you guys are doing business directly with the Chinese?… Why would you take this risk to yourself, to your family’s brand that Hunter screams about, and all that stuff?”
Jim Biden’s answer: “Plausible deniability.”
So anyone who says Joe Biden was not involved in Hunter’s business is “lying.”
“It’s a blatant lie,” Bobulinski said. “You have stacks of evidence that Joe Biden showed up at meetings, shook hands, participated in phone calls, all the way back to last summer.”
Recalling that Joe Biden was on “20-plus phone calls” with Hunter and his cronies, Bobulinski said that Biden joined those conversations “to demonstrate the Biden brand to whoever was in that meeting, whether it was the Ukrainians, the Romanians, the Russians, Colombians, Chinese, whoever it was.”
And Biden needn’t say anything on those calls. Like a Mafia chieftain, Biden just had to be present:
That’s all he had to do. He didn’t have to say, “Well, hey, what about that deal? Where are we getting the money to fund that?” Just him being on the phone is evidence of involvement and enabling the transaction. And any statement otherwise is an absurd statement.
In 2020, when Bobulinski surfaced to reveal Joe Biden’s elbow-deep involvement in Hunter’s businesses, former business partner Devon Archer, a key player in the scandal, told Bobulinksi that “you’re going to bury us.”
Throughout October 2020, I had numerous discussions with [Hunter’s business partners] James Gilliar and Rob Walker talking about, “Guys, we lived these facts. I met with Joe Biden. You guys know Joe Biden was involved. This is going to come out. I would rather come out — all of us come out on the record and present the facts to the American people than somebody else tell the story, like the Bidens telling the story or their Democratic operatives and stuff like that and obfuscating what truly happened.
Joe’s the “Big Guy”
Discussing the email that distributed the equity CEFC-SinoHawk Holdings deal, Bobulinski said the Biden Mafia “aggressively defrauded me.” Oneida Holdings held 50 percent of Sinohawk. Bobulinski’s own company, Global Investment Ventures, owned 20 percent of Oneida.
Speaking of a $10 deal with CEFC, that email says “10 held by H for the big guy.” The “big guy,” Bobulinski testified, “100 percent — is Joe Biden.”
“It’s crystal clear,” Bobulisnki said:
There’s nobody else who they would be listing as the big guy. Remember, this email was drafted to me with an expectation that no outside party — this wouldn’t be part of congressional hearings. These guys are all low‑key. I was low‑key. Well, why was he using code? Why is he calling Hunter “H”? Why is he using “the big guy”? Well, because that’s the way James Gilliar communicated because of his intel background and the things he was doing around the world. But when he says “10 held by H for the big guy,” it’s Joe Biden.
But the Bidens chiseled Bobulinski out of some of his share, which went from 25 percent to 20 percent.
Democrats were having none of it. Democrat Dan Goldman of New York, an attorney who worked on the first impeachment of President Donald Trump, told Bobulinski he was “being incredibly disrespectful.” When Bobulinski said he didn’t understand one of Goldman’s questions, the congressman said he would “try to dumb it down.”
The Democrats also yelled at Bobulinski, and strongly implied he is a liar. Maryland’s Jamie Raskin called him “out of control.”
Oversight Chairman James Comer apologized:
I’ve never seen that display of pathetic behavior in a deposition before. I apologize for their behavior, but I appreciate what you’ve said here today.
Democrats regardless, when Joe Biden said he knew nothing of his son’s businesses, he told an “absolute lie. He lied to the American people.”
