Bird Flu Mania Boosts Egg Prices, But Experts Warn Gain-of-Function Is the Real Threat

Egg prices are on the rise again. It’s so bad that Waffle House, the cuisine institution frequented by night owls and inebriated clubgoers in the South, has begun charging more for dishes that include eggs.

Massive Culling

Fueling the latest rise in prices is another round of poultry culling. Tens of millions of birds across the country have been discarded over bird flu fears. Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch in Michigan alone recently slaughtered 6.5 million chickens. Crescent Duck Farm in Aquebogue, N.Y., was forced to kill off its entire flock of nearly 100,000 ducks after bird flu was detected last month, according to reports. This may be the death knell for the entire business, the owner told reporters.

Industry observers say the current bird flu strain, which took flight in 2022, is “probably the worst the United States has ever seen.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says 67 people have contracted it from animals. One died from it. Despite the aggressive actions spurred by government regulators, the CDC says “the current public health risk is low.” Nevertheless, no bird has been spared in the mission to eradicate this villainous virus.

Nefarious Purpose?

Interestingly, the inspector general for the Department of Agriculture (USDA) who played a central role in the eradication of millions of birds, Phyllis Fong, was not only recently fired, but had to be escorted out by security for refusing to stay fired, according to a Reuters report. The USDA, however, denied that security officials got involved.

Fong oversaw investigations into food safety, animal welfare violations, and financial audits. She may also be partly responsible for why you’re going to have to eat more oatmeal for breakfast. Michael Baxter of Real Raw News reported:

Fong, a 22-year veteran of the department, is among the Deep Staters responsible for unnecessarily ordering the culling of millions of birds and artificially inflating the cost of poultry and eggs in the United States. The Biden regime had ordered the slaughter under the pretense of protecting citizens from emerging and mutating strains of avian influenza; our sources, which include current administration officials, say tales of a new bird flu epidemic are a fable and that the Deep State’s motivation was to incite public panic and hysteria and further bankrupt citizens.

Fong’s intentions may or may not be as nefarious as Baxter believes. However, it is undeniable that the USDA’s aggressive actions have triggered skyrocketing egg prices and brought more hardship onto the already struggling American public. The average retail egg price increased 37 percent between December 2023 and December 2024, according to consumer price index data as reported by The Washington Post. But the most recent push for culling has triggered yet higher prices.

Conflict of Interest?

Some experts suggest the current bird flu contagion is dangerous for reasons legacy media is not talking about. Last year, a peer-reviewed study on the transmissibility of bird flu raised concerns about the potential for a human pandemic. A team led by Yoshihiro Kawaoka, Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison conducted the research. It found the bovine H5N1 virus was capable of spreading in mice and ferrets and binding to human-type receptors, and showed limited respiratory droplet transmission in ferrets. However, as Children’s Health Defense’s news arm The Defender reported, Kawaoka would benefit from a bird flu pandemic:

Kawaoka has been involved in bird flu gain-of-function research since 1990, funded by former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He holds several bird flu-related patents, including for vaccine development. Experts who spoke with The Defender said they worry the study was being used to foment unreasonable fear of the virus jumping to humans, expand risky gain-of-function research, push for the irresponsible development of bird flu vaccines and set the public up for new pandemic countermeasures that will further restrict human rights.

Fearmongering

Several experts who spoke to The Defender cast significant doubt on the study’s merits and the true motivation behind it. Children’s Health Defense Chief Scientific Officer Brian Hooker, Ph.D. said the Kawaoka study “is being used to stoke fear for H5N1 as the latest pandemic.” Hooker pointed out that Rick Bright, a former director of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), stoked bird flu fearmongering on social media. It turns out that before leaving BARDA in 2021, Bright oversaw its gain-of-function research on H5N1 and holds patents on bird flu vaccines.

Vaccine researcher Jessica Rose, Ph.D. believes the study was designed to create support for a new pandemic. Moreover, according to Hooker:

Rose pointed out what appears to be the next Event 201: the International Bird Flu Summit scheduled for October in Washington, D.C. The summit has a brochure featuring breakout sessions addressing “Mass Fatality Management,” “Strategies for Operating with 50% or More Absenteeism,” “Enforcing Quarantine Measures Effectively” and other plans that Rose contended will be like the COVID-19 pandemic “but amped up on steroids.”

Hooker categorized Kawaoka’s research as gain-of-function. He noted that any release of the lab-created H5N1 virus — intentional or otherwise — could result in a “public health catastrophe.” Former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield echoes Hooker’s concerns. He told The Heritage Foundation, “I think the greatest threat is the gain-of-function research.” He added he was very concerned about Kawaoka’s research, which, in his view, “teaches bird flu how to infect humans.” Redfield has become known for his comments that it’s a matter of when, not if, bird flu will cause a deadly human pandemic, which, he believes, would have a 50-percent mortality rate.

A “Psyop”

Dr. Robert Malone, an indisputable expert on influenza, calls the bird flu scare a “psyop.” He believes the point is to eventually roll out masks, lockdowns, quarantines, and mRNA vaccines for poultry and livestock, “as well as for all of us.” Malone said:

The more they test, the more “bird flu” (H5N1) they will find. This “pandemic” is nothing more than an artifact of their newly developed protocols to test cattle, poultry, pets, people, and wildlife on a massive scale for avian influenza.

Malone also took issue with Redfield’s bold and scary prediction:

Both Dr. Lena Wen, CNN correspondent, and Dr. Redfield, ex-director of the CDC, have gone on to mainstream media shows and promoted the narrative that the case fatality rate for avian influenza is over 50 percent. This, frankly, is a lie that the WHO [World Health Organization] is promoting. Bird flu generally is not tested for when someone has flu symptoms. When an outbreak of avian flu occurs on a poultry farm, testing of farm workers who are seriously ill will commence. This has led to the generation of the 890 case reports since 2003. Of those seriously ill patients reported to the WHO, over 50 percent died. This is not an actual case fatality rate of avian flu around the world. It is, again, a sampling error due to a tiny data set derived from those who are at greatest risk due to general health. And just like the WHO reporting on an exaggerated case fatality rate for mPOX, which was also based on a sampling error, or for COVID-19, again a sampling error, it is now used to justify psychological bioterrorism on the world population. Please don’t fall for it.
