The leftist Mainstream Media seems to have ignored another big story.

Ashley Biden has confirmed that her diary that became the subject of an FBI raid on Project Veritas is authentic, and the leftist Snopes “fact-checking” website has corrected its label on the story.

Biden confirmed the diary and contents in a letter to a judge in which she asked for the woman who sold it to Project Veritas to get jail time. A federal judge sentenced that woman, Aimee Harris, to a month in jail on April 9.

Twenty days later, Snopes corrected its erroneous claims about the diary, long known to be Biden’s given Harris’ conviction in August 2022.

But the shocking revelations in the diary are what concerns Joe Biden and his backers. Ashley claimed her father showered with her when she was a young girl.

Biden’s Lament

“I am deeply saddened that I even have to write this letter because my personal private journal was stolen and sold for profit,” the now 42-year-old Biden wrote:

The point of the theft, I assume, was to be able to peddle grotesque lies.

What lies, Biden didn’t say. But the clearly disturbed woman did say she felt violated:

The defendant’s actions constitute one of the most heinous forms of bullying, not to mention a complete violation of my privacy and personal dignity. After being the victim of a crime in my early twenties, I developed PTSD. The journal that was stolen was part of my efforts to heal. I am a private citizen, targeted only because my father happened to be running to be President.

Biden claimed that her “extensive” psychiatric work “was undone” by Harris. As well, Harris “created a constant environment of anxiety, fear, and intimidation in which my innermost thoughts are constantly distorted and manipulated.”

Biden claimed she is “constantly re-traumatized” despite the revelations being three years old, that she “will forever have to deal” with the diary’s visibility online. And “others grossly misinterpret” the entries to “defame” her and her loved ones.

Harris’ selling the diary “constituted a horrific trauma,” she wrote. So she expected Judge Laura Taylor Swain to sentence Harris to prison and a “lengthy probation.”

Continued Biden:

She should be held accountable for what she has done. Not only did she demonstrate a complete lack of morality. …

But I ask Your Honor to hold Ms. Harris accountable so that she thinks twice before doing it to someone else. I have spent much of my life trying to speak up for those who cannot find their voices. I am fortunate enough to have found mine, and I use it today — and every day — to make sure that bullies are held accountable.

Snopes Correction

The correction at Snopes — which did not admit that a criminal trial for stealing the diary would not have been held if the diary weren’t Biden’s — cited the letter.

“Previous versions of this fact check noted ‘strong evidence’ that the diary existed, but argued that no source had authenticated the contents of the pages published online, writing that ‘the authenticity of photographs purported to be from a diary is a separate question from the factual existence of a diary,’” Snopes claimed.

So now, we are told, the story is “true.” Now they tell us.

The website then explained how Biden’s private musings came to be published. After the theft, Project Veritas paid $40,000 for it, but refused to publish it because the outfit was unsure of its authenticity.

An employee gave the diary to The National File, which published Biden’s memory of her father showering with her.

Biden remembered that she was “hyper-sexualized @ a young age,” that she and a girlfriend were “sexualized,” that she had “sex with friends @ a young age,” and, worst of all for her father, that she had “showers w/ my dad (probably not appropriate).”

FBI Raid

Though The New York Times concluded that “the sentencing of Ms. Harris reflects the seriousness of the government’s efforts to deter people from interfering in elections,” it mostly likely “reflects the seriousness of the government’s efforts to deter people” from crossing the Bidens and their Deep State backers.

That also explains the FBI raid on Project Veritas employees.

Even leftists were concerned about the FBI’s action.

“I’m sorry, but this is worrying from a press freedom perspective — unless & until DOJ releases evidence Protect Veritas was directly involved in the theft,” tweeted Trevor Timm of the Freedom of the Press Foundation.

The American Civil Liberties Union expressed its concern as well.

Whatever Project Veritas’ “disgraceful deceptions,” the “precedent set in this case could have serious consequences for press freedom,” said ACLU senior lawyer Brian Hauss:

Unless the government had good reason to believe that Project Veritas employees were directly involved in the criminal theft of the diary, it should not have subjected them to invasive searches and seizures.

Jane Kirtley, a law professor at the University of Minnesota, called the raid “over the top.”

“I’m not a big fan of Project Veritas, but this is just over the top,” she said. “I hope they get a serious reprimand from the court because I think this is just wrong.”

Maybe it’s time for the worthies of the White House press corps to demand an explanation of Biden’s “probably not appropriate” showers with his daughter.

After all, everyone knows what they would have done, and would still be doing, had the diary belonged to one of Donald Trump’s daughters.
