Joe Thomas never expected a pardon, but after more than a year in prison he was glad when it came. He is one of more than 1,500 January 6 “Stop the Steal” protesters who were tortured by former President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice. But he always maintained his own innocence and that of his companions. “Pi,” as he is known on social media, sparked the #Sing4Freedom movement to stand in solidarity with J6ers who were incarcerated around the country, and he’s continuing the movement now that he’s once again free to enjoy the rights our government is supposed to protect.
