UN Goals for Humanity Target Children as “Agents of Change”

The United Nations has a far-reaching global agenda for all of humanity, and your children are in the cross-hairs. In the UN document outlining the 17 “Sustainable Development Goals” of its master plan, the word “education” alone is mentioned more than 20 times. But the UN and its radical vision on the “education” of your children, described as “agents of change” in the manifesto, goes far beyond what most parents think of as education.

Indeed, the UN openly advocates the use of schools to indoctrinate all of humanity into a new set of values, attitudes, and beliefs in preparation for the new “green” and “sustainable” world order. The UN’s all-encompassing scheme, which the murderous Communist Chinese regime played a “crucial role” in formulating, was outlined in “Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

The globalist manifesto, set to be adopted later this month by the UN’s member regimes at the global organization’s 70th annual General Assembly confab in New York, deals with virtually every realm of human life. It is essentially UN Agenda 21 on steroids. From mandating universal healthcare and wealth redistribution “within and  among countries,” to requiring a “systematic mainstreaming of a gender perspective” and government controls to enforce “sustainable consumption and production,” the agenda will ensure that “no one is left behind.” That is especially applicable to your children.

Under the vision, governments, in partnership with the UN and emerging regional regimes, will ultimately be the sole providers of education. “We commit to providing inclusive and equitable quality education at all levels — early childhood, primary, secondary, tertiary, technical and vocational training,” announces the UN declaration, saying every person on the planet must have access to “life-long learning” opportunities. “Children and young women and men are critical agents of change and will find in the new Goals a platform to channel their infinite capacities for activism into the creation of a better world.”

“Goal 4” of the master plan — “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” — deals exclusively with education. And it offers some insight into how your children will become the “agents of change” the UN hopes will help create the type of totalitarian world that its new “agenda” envisions. Among other demands, the document echoes Karl Marx’s education vision as outlined in the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto. By 2030, the UN document states, the UN and its members will ensure that “all” children complete “free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education.” In other words, taxpayer-funded, government-controlled, UN-inspired “education” — aka brainwashing — for every child.

Also on the UN agenda —as well as Obama’s agenda — is to ensure that “all” children have access to “quality early childhood development, care and pre-primary education so that they are ready for primary education.” Adults and their educational options will be targeted as well. “By 2030, ensure equal access for all women and men to affordable and quality technical, vocational and tertiary education, including university,” the UN document continues. In other words, the UN’s education agenda will extend from cradle to grave and every point in between. To ensure consistency in its indoctrination programs around the world, the UN plan also calls for more “international cooperation for teacher training.”

The UN was uncharacteristically transparent on what this “education” regime will focus on. “By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development,” the global plan for 2030 states. Read that one again, and consider what the UN means when it pushes “sustainable development.”

Perhaps hoping nobody would notice, the UN itself has already spilled the beans when it comes to education for “sustainable development,” a key tenet of the UN Agenda 21, and what it really means. “Generally, more highly educated people, who have higher incomes, consume more resources than poorly educated people, who tend to have lower incomes,” a UN “toolkit” for global “sustainable” education explains. “In this case, more education increases the threat to sustainability.” In other words, people with real educations have higher incomes and therefore threaten the whole “sustainability” agenda.

The UN’s goals do say that people should “achieve literacy,” but as the old cliché indicates, actions speak louder than words. And on literacy, a UN plan to teach teachers how to teach “reading” is a clear sign that the global outfit has no intention of creating literate human beings. In 2005, UNESCO released its “Guide to Teaching Reading at the Primary School Level” advocating what it calls a “balanced approach” with the quack “whole-word” method and a sprinkling of phonics. In the book Crimes of the Educators, co-authored with this writer, the late educator Sam Blumenfeld, a leading international expert on reading, blasted the UN reading scheme as “the most confusing, irrational, and nonsensical reading program ever invented by so-called educators.”

Aside from teaching reading wrong and ensuring more functional illiteracy in the future, the UN’s education agenda also puts sex “education” front and center. “By 2030, ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health-care services [abortion and contraception], including for family planning, information and education,” the document explains. Of course, the UN is already involved here, releasing its “International Guidelines for Sexuality Education” in 2009. In the “guidelines,” the UN calls for teaching children starting at age five that masturbation is “pleasurable.” By age nine, children begin lessons on “aphrodisiacs,” “homophobia,” “transphobia,” the alleged safety and desirability of legal abortion, and various perversions. At 15, the children learn how to “promote the right to and access to safe abortion.” Agents of change, indeed.

For the globalist Council on Foreign Relations, a powerful “think tank” that advocates global governance and further surrendering of national sovereignty, even all of that is “insufficient” when it comes to the UN’s “approach to education.” Writing in the official CFR mouthpiece Foreign Affairs, Hoover Institution Fellow Eric Hanushek and economics professor Ludger Woessmann at the University of Munich demand “a strong and coherent emphasis on education” by the UN, saying it is “central to the success of the global development agenda.” Why the UN should have an approach to education (or even a development agenda) — or what authority the UN imagines it has to meddle in education to begin with — is never made clear either by the UN or the CFR. The UN charter certainly does not purport to authorize it.

The CFR piece envisions a global set of education standards for all children, with an accompanying international testing regime to monitor outcomes. “Instead of simply expanding access to schooling,… the central post-2015 goal for education should be that ‘all youth achieve at least basic skills’,” the authors argue, sounding a lot like the promoters of the extraordinarily unpopular Obama-backed Common Core nationalization of schooling in the United States. All of that is supposedly in the interest of stimulating “economic growth,” which the authors of the Foreign Affairs piece say they researched across various countries.

“The most important step would be for the United Nations to establish an explicit quality goal, one that can be tracked by measured skills,” the CFR authors continued, advocating for an international test  to enforce compliance such as the PISA testing regime produced by the OECD cartel of bloated welfare states. “This goal implies linking both national educational policies and international support to student outcomes observed through regular assessments of students’ skills.” Whether countries should even have “national education policies” — in the United States, the Constitution actually prohibits federal involvement in education — is never contemplated, with the assumption being that one size really does fit all. The UN has for years been promoting national education regimes on the road to a globalized education system, and it boasts of its success thus far.

Of course, as this magazine and others have reported for decades, this is hardly the UN’s first foray into your children’s education. In fact, the previous UN master plan for the planet, dubbed the “Millennium Development Goals,” called for all children around the world to be in primary school by 2015, as if UN views on education somehow trump those of every parent, tribe, community, culture and nation on Earth. Long before then, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, or UNESCO, was formulating a “World Core Curriculum” to foist on every school on Earth — a sort of pro-UN “Common Core” for the world, inspired by occultist Alice Bailey. Obama Education Secretary Arne Duncan even calls UNESCO his “global partner” in the administration’s “cradle-to-career” education agenda to create “green citizens.”

Even the radical UN “Universal Declaration of Human Rights,” which openly claims the privileges it purports to bestow can be restricted or abolished under virtually any pretext (and can never be used contrary to the purposes or principles of the UN), addresses education. In Article 26 of the document, the UN offers a big clue as to its real “education” agenda, stating explicitly that education “shall further the activities of the United Nations.” Toward that end, a UN “human rights committee” recently demanded that governments around the world regulate all private schools and impose government “standards” on them in the interest of “human rights.”

Myriad UN summits and conferences have also been held over the decades explicitly demanding a global education regime to change the values, attitudes, and beliefs of children worldwide. Just this summer, UN chief Ban Ki-moon and UNESCO boss Irina Bokova declared at the UN World Education Forum in South Korea that globalized schools around the world need to reshape children’s values to create “sustainable” “global citizens.” The controversial summit outlined what the UN described as its “roadmap for global education” through 2030 in the deeply controversial “Incheon Declaration.”

“Education must do more than produce individuals who can read, write and count,” Ban was quoted as saying in a UN press release about the summit in Korea. “It must nurture global citizens who can rise to the challenges of the 21st century.” Indeed, everybody at the summit seemed to be in total agreement that one of the chief purposes of UN-inspired “education” must be “global citizenship” and “sustainability” indoctrination under the guise of ensuring every child has “universal basic skills.”

UNESCO boss Bokova, a Bulgarian Communist Party operative who is now the “frontrunner” to lead the broader UN, was also fully on board with the agenda. “We have the collective duty to empower every child and youth with the right foundations — knowledge, values and skills — to shape the future as responsible global citizens, building on the successes of the past 15 years,” she said, adding that education would “transform lives” and contribute to “breakthroughs on all the proposed sustainable development goals.” In other words, the UN — not parents, families, communities, or even nations — has the “collective duty” to shape children’s values to transform them into “global citizens” ready to further the UN’s “sustainable development” agenda.

Among the goals outlined at the UN summit for 2030 are a series of deeply controversial points suggesting that the UN, often ridiculed as the “dictators club,” will be running the show — and not to promote proper education, but to indoctrinate humanity. “By 2030, ensure all learners acquire knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including among others through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development,” reads one of the myriad “Global Targets for Education 2030.”

The “education” component of the UN’s master plan — celebrated using Maoist rhetoric as a “Great Leap Forward” by former NATO chief Javier Solana — is just one small part of the broader globalist agenda to have the UN and its member regimes “transform the world.” But capturing the minds of the young will be crucial to its success, as every power-mad cabal or psychopath seeking power over his fellow man has understood for centuries.

If liberty is to survive into the future, the UN and its Marxist-style Sustainable Development Goals must be exposed and ultimately crushed. That begins with protecting your children from the UN’s dangerous “education” agenda.
