Universal City, California — Since its release last year, millions of people have seen the film I Can Only Imagine —  imagining the power of faith reconciling and transforming their families.

At the 27th Annual Movieguide Faith & Values Awards Gala on February 8, producer Cindy Bond told The New American that the film’s impact has been “absolutely phenomenal.”

The film, one of the highest-grossing faith-based movies of 2018, earning $85 million at the box office, won the Epiphany Prize for Most Inspiring Movie at the gala. The movie tells the story behind the most-played Christian contemporary song, “I Can Only Imagine,” by the band MercyMe.
