One of the signs prominently held up by one of the idiots at the Occupy Wall Street mob scene read “People Not Profits.” Obviously, this numbskull doesn’t understand that without profits we would all be living in poverty, as they do in Cuba. But neither the Cuban nor Soviet governments even remotely gave up on profits. The Soviets used slave labor to mine the gold in Siberia to pay for the Communist government’s need to import goods, and the Cuban government earns profits by maintaining beach resorts for foreign tourists.
But the sign “People Not Profits” is an indication of the lack of any understanding of how an economy works. And all of these ignoramuses went to public schools where the failures of socialism are never taught. Another sign read “Fight market dictatorship.” The very essence of a free market is that it is totally democratic and the very opposite of dictatorship. A free market encourages competition, not monopoly dictatorship. But these idiots marching on Wall Street don’t know anything about markets because what they have to sell nobody wants. Not even Chinese communists believe in such nonsense.
Another sign read, “People of the world rise up!” The only people who might be tempted to rise up are Alinsky’s “have nots” who want to take from the “haves.” But most of them are content to live off government welfare and watch TV most of the day. It would be interesting to interview the protesters and see how many of them are university students from middle class “have” families.
The sign that read “We are legion,” just verified that the number of dumbed-down Americans willing to march on Wall Street is now legion. Our socialist public schools are graduating more ignorant young adults than ever before. And, of course, many of these dummies blame their state of incompetence not on their socialist schools or their teachers, but on capitalism. And where better to protest their indignation, not in front of their schools but in front of the New York Stock Exchange.
Another sign of ignorance stated “Take to the streets.” What in blazes did they hope to gain by “taking to the streets”? There are hundreds of peddlers in New York who have taken to the streets to sell hotdogs and sandwiches to make a living for their families. They all serve a very useful purpose. But the unwashed lefties took to the streets to protest that life has not given them what they really want: the power to lord it over their fellow citizens. They want what Lenin wanted: a Dictatorship of the Proletariat.
Obviously, these mob actions didn’t just develop spontaneously. They were carefully planned by the militant left to further socialist goals in the United States. And among the planners were the usual suspects. First, Jeffrey Sachs, the Columbia University economist, who is also a prominent supporter of the Robin Hood Tax on all financial transactions. Sachs is a key member of the Institute for New Economic Thinking, or INET, sponsored by George Soros. Apparently, Mr. Soros enjoys using his billions to play with the destinies of nations. It’s a much more exciting game than chess.
Sachs keynoted INET’s meeting at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, in April, sponsored by Soros, for the purpose of planning a global economic restructuring.
Another interesting suspect is Cass Sunstein, Obama’s regulatory czar, who has ties to the Constitution rewrite effort, which is also funded by Soros.
The planners have their own website: USDayofRage.org. One of the aims of the movement is to rewrite the U.S. Constitution through a well-orchestrated Constitutional Convention, or ConCon. The website reads:
For these reasons, we come together now to organize state and national non-violent protests and assemblies of people to demand an Article V Constitutional Convention to restore integrity to our elections and government.
The Framers created a method for escaping from captured government — an Article V Constitutional Convention. If 34 states pass resolutions calling for a convention, all sides have the opportunity to argue for changes they believe will restore the republic. Any amendment proposed must then be ratified by 38 states to become law.
Rewriting the U.S. Constitution is no easy job, particularly if most Americans oppose it. Recently, there was a meeting at Harvard University to promote a ConCon. We can suppose that Mr. Soros can now hire people to stage these obviously contrived meetings. There were a few true believers in a ConCon who ended the meeting in favor of, you guessed it, a ConCon.
The Day of Ragers are also opposed to the Supreme Court ruling which permits corporations to make political contributions. The website states:
Corporations, even those owned by foreign shareholders, use money to act as the voices of millions, while individual citizens, the legitimate voters, are silenced and demoralized by the farce.
We demand that Citizens United versus FEC which deems corporations to be people when it comes to political contributions be overturned. We demand that corporate personhood be abolished. We demand state and federal election and campaign finance laws be reformed. One citizen. One dollar. One vote.
Citizens in America still vote one person at a time. Corporations don’t vote, but they can contribute to political causes much in the same way that Soros does. But Soros wants to make it easier for him to control elections. Corporations making political contributions would only make it more difficult for this billionaire megalomaniac to stop conservatives from winning the next presidential election.
It should be noted that Soros began backing Obama in 2004, when the upcoming politician was running for the Illinois Senate. We found this enlightening bit of information on page 115 of Steven Brill’s new book, Class Warfare: Inside the Fight to Fix America’s Schools. He writes:
June 7, 2004, George Soros had a fund-raising cocktail party in his New York Fifth Avenue apartment for Barack Obama, guest of honor, who was running for the senate in Illinois who was black and had roots in Kenya.
Which means that Soros can probably claim credit for making Obama President of the United States. But obviously he hopes that these staged mob scenes will frighten Americans away from supporting conservative, constitutionalist ideas.
The Day of Rage website also provides detailed, meticulous instructions on how to behave non-violently, and what to do if arrested. The demonstrators were provided with Legal Info, Restroom Guides, Carpools, Media Manuals, Street Medic Guides, Team Materials and Resources, Legal Flow Chart, Resources for Non Violent Civil Disobedience, Jail Solidarity, and more. Nothing was left to chance. All of the “spontaneous” demonstrations in different cities were as carefully choreographed as a well-directed play.
So they occupied Wall Street during the weekend when the New York Stock Exchange was closed, but they got lots of YouTube attention. They are trying to imitate the Tea Party rallies that have taken place all over the country during the last three years. But all they do is echo the same old pro-socialist rhetoric coming out of the mouth of their beloved leader in the White House. Americans are tired of it and have had enough. They can’t wait for November 2012 to put an end to it.
