Jury selection has begun for former President Donald Trump’s “hush money” trial, with seven jurors selected today in the Manhattan Supreme Court.
New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump accuses him of falsely recording payments as “legal services” to his former attorney Michael Cohen, that allegedly were payments made to Stormy Daniels to cover up sexual allegations.
Trump is facing 34 felony counts of first-degree falsifying business records, with each count being punishable by up to four years in prison.
Trump claims his trial is political persecution, stating on Truth Social this morning:
“MY TRIAL IS AN ASSAULT ON AMERICA!”
