Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio), chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), has stated the threat of a terror attack occurring within the United States is at the highest level since the attacks of September 11, 2001. Turner said President Joe Biden’s border policies are responsible for the increased terrorism threat, stating on X, “President Biden’s open border policies have put the United States at its greatest risk of a terrorist attack since 9/11. Today, I told @MargBrennan on @FaceTheNation that the Biden Administration needs to declassify information related to the terrorist threats that it is seeing.”

Speaking on Fox News Radio, Turner said the HPSCI concurs with statements made by FBI Director Christopher Wray warning of the risk of a terror attack:

FBI Director Wray … has publicly stated that — in his view — that the intelligence shows that we are at grave risk for an impending terrorist attack. Our committee, looking at the intelligence, concurs with Director Wray.

He confirmed that the threat due to terrorists entering the country illegally is no longer speculation, stating:

These issues go directly to this administration’s open border policies in the southern border. It’s no longer speculative, it’s no longer hypothetical that the administration’s policies would result in terrorists coming across the border, and coming across with the intent to harm Americans. We are seeing that absolutely, and the administration and the FBI director [are] publicly stating it.
