Protesters calling for a cease-fire in Gaza blocked traffic at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge this morning.
Standing in front of hundreds of blocked vehicles, protesters were seen holding banners with the messages “STOP THE WORLD FOR GAZA” and “END THE SIEGE ON GAZA NOW!”
In a post on Instagram, “a15actions,” the pro-Palestinian group promoting worldwide protests today, stated:
“🚨HAPPENING NOW🚨 Chicagoans are BLOCKING the ENTRANCE to O’Hare International Airport, barring flyers from accessing Terminals 1-3. On this Tax Day, when millions are paying taxes which fund the ongoing U.S and Israeli bombardment of Gaza, protestors seek to take dramatic action, alongside other @a15actions organizers worldwide. O’Hare International Airport is one of the largest in the country, and there will be NO business as usual while Palestinians suffer at the hands of American funded bombing by Israel.”
