Representatives Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) and Sean Casten (D-Ill.) were evacuated from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters by U.S. Capitol Police last night as the situation between pro-Palestine protesters and Capitol Police became violent. Protesters attempted to enter the DNC headquarters during a Democratic fundraising event, causing Capitol Police to lock down all congressional office buildings.

Fox News correspondent Chad Pergram reported on X, “All House Office Buildings Locked Down. No exit or entry due to pro-Palestinian demonstration on Capitol Hill.”

U.S. Capitol Police said on X, “Right now our officers are working to keep back approximately 150 people who are illegally and violently protesting in the area of Canal Street and Ivy Street, SE. Officers are making arrests. All Members have been evacuated from the area. Please stay away from the area.”

Sherman said the protesters are “pro-#Hamas,” stating on X, “Apparently, these pro-#Hamas demonstrators want #Republicans to prevail in the next Congressional election.”

Capitol Police arrested one person and reported that six officers were injured by the protesters, with injuries including minor cuts, being pepper sprayed, and being punched.
