Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the first day of the three-day Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) taking place in Antalya, Turkey. This is the third edition of the ADF, with the theme of the forum this year being “Advancing Diplomacy in Times of Turmoil.”
Orbán announced Hungary and Turkey would strengthen their partnership, stating on X, “Yaşasın Macar-Türk Kardeşliği! It was a privilege to meet with President @RTErdogan on the margins of the #AntalyaDiplomacyForum. I am looking forward to further strengthening our enhanced strategic partnership in the field of trade, energy and the defence industry.”
Erdoğan said Turkey would establish “win-win” relations with the West and East, stating on X, “I hope that the third meeting of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, whose theme this year is Highlighting Diplomacy in a Period of Crises, will be beneficial. Our Antalya, the capital of tourism, becomes one of the centers where the heart of global diplomacy beats with the forum.”
Earlier today, Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Israel Katz criticized Erdoğan, stating on X, “Erdogan, who constantly massacres Kurds in Turkey and the region, accuses Israel of deliberately committing genocide in Gaza. Mr. @RTErdogan, we are not like you. We are fighting against your accomplice, Hamas, whom you hosted in Turkey and enabled them to commit massacres and murders. You should be silent and ashamed!”
