Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has responded to the Hezbollah assassination attempt that targeted him and his wife at his home in Caesarea, Israel.

Netanyahu said it was a “grave mistake” and warned that Iran will pay a heavy price. He maintained that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will continue to achieve the objectives in its seven-front war, stating on X:

The attempt by Iran’s proxy Hezbollah to assassinate me and my wife today was a grave mistake. This will not deter me or the State of Israel from continuing our just war against our enemies in order to secure our future. I say to Iran and its proxies in its axis of evil: Anyone who tries to harm Israel’s citizens will pay a heavy price. We will continue to eliminate the terrorists and those who dispatch them. We will bring our hostages home from Gaza. And we will return our citizens who live on our Northern border safely to their homes. Israel is determined to achieve all our war objectives and change the security reality in our region for generations to come. Together, we will fight, and with God’s help — together, we will win.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also responded to the Hezbollah attempt on Netanyahu. He proclaimed that the IDF will continue to dismantle Hamas and eliminate Hezbollah terrorist leaders following the attack on the Israeli government:

The attempt to harm Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his family is intended to harm the State of Israel and its governmental symbols.

The security establishment will continue to attack any terrorist factor and will strike with force any enemy that harmed or tries to harm the State of Israel — our actions all over the Middle East have proven this to date, and will prove it in the future as well.

Israel deepens its achievements in the arenas of war — the continued dismantling of Hamas, the significant removal of capabilities from Hezbollah and the elimination of the terrorist leaders who started the war against us. The attempts of the Hezbollah organization to discourage us and prevent us from achieving the goals of the war — will not succeed.

However, Iran denied involvement in the attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated in a post on the Pasdaran Cyber Corps Telegram channel:

Iran denied any connection with the drone that targeted Netanyahu’s residence

Iran’s representation in the United Nations announced that it rejects any connection between Tehran and the drone that targeted the home of the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime in Qaisaria.
