Following remarks earlier this month in which U.S. President Joe Biden said he would not support an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear sites, The Washington Post reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed Biden during a conversation last week that he is willing to consider only striking Iranian military targets. Netanyahu’s office responded to The Washington Post, stating on X, “We listen to the opinions of the United States, but we will make our final decisions based on our national interests.”
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant spoke about the impending Israeli strike against Iran, stating it will be “deadly, precise and surprising,” posting on X:
Together with the intelligence soldiers in unit 9900 who watch what is happening all over the Middle East through visual intelligence. In my conversation with the soldiers I emphasized — our attack in Iran will be deadly, precise and surprising. Those who try to harm the State of Israel will pay a price.
