A Massachusetts middle school’s LGBT “Pride” event on June 2 turned contentious when, instead of dutifully wearing the rainbow colors that left-wing agitators have usurped as a symbol for LGBT “pride,” many students chose instead to wear red, white, and blue — in support of America.
School officials at Marshall Simonds Middle School in Burlington were left searching for answers as their school’s “Pride” celebration instead became a day for some students to clap back at a school pushing LGBT propaganda. School officials complained of rainbow decorations being torn down and destroyed.
Instead of celebrating LGBT “pride,” many students chanted, “My pronouns are U.S.A!”
Principal Cari Perchase profusely apologized to LGBT members of the community, saying she was “truly sorry that a day meant for you to celebrate your identity turned into a day of intolerance.”
District Superintendent Eric Conti claimed that the red, white, and blue-clad students were guilty of “homophobia” for revolting against the event organized by the school’s Spectrum Club, an LGBT-friendly organization extolling left-wing causes.
“Students who participate in the Spectrum Club led a celebration of National Pride Month that included posters in support of identity pride, and other symbols of LGBTQ+ identity such as rainbow flags and clothing,” Conti wrote in a letter addressed to the Burlington community. “Unfortunately, some of these symbols were damaged on Friday during the school day by some students.”
Conti refused to take any responsibility for the incident and, instead, doubled down on the district’s LGBT rhetoric: “We ask all staff, teachers, and members of the Burlington Public School community to join us in taking a stand against homophobia and identity-directed hateful actions.”
Teachers at the school claimed that the red, white, and blue-wearing students intimidated students who were all set to celebrate LGBT “pride.”
“Over the course of the day you could actually see a reduction in the number of students walking around in rainbow-colored clothing. It was really tough,” said computer science teacher Diana Marcus.
Nancy Bonassera, co-chair of the Burlington Equity Coalition, called for the school to “provide consequences” for those who celebrated America instead of LGBT “pride,” and said such punishments should emphasize the town’s stance on inclusivity and equality.
“We also believe that without any direct and concrete action, these incidents will occur again and increase in severity,” Bonassera said. She also called for the town to fill its vacant DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) director post.
Carl Foss, a former school committee member, commented that parents were as much to blame as the students for any unruly behavior.
“I thought Burlington was a safer place than Texas or Florida,” Foss remarked. “Obviously I was wrong.”
“Some may argue that the incidents are a school’s problem. To that I would say it runs deeper. This type of intolerant rhetoric starts in the home,” he said.
Foss is correct when he says that the incident “runs deeper,” but he was right for all the wrong reasons. Average Americans — even middle schoolers, it seems — have reached a saturation point when it comes to LGBT indoctrination in our culture. People cannot even turn on a television anymore without being bombarded with LGBT propaganda. The LGBT Mafia has even appropriated the entire month of June to shout their hedonistic message everywhere, from professional sports to your neighborhood grocery store.
Finally, people are standing up and saying it’s too much.
The situation at Marshall Simonds Middle School in Massachusetts is just another example of a populace fed up with the LBGT agenda. Bud Light, once the most popular beer in America, has lost a third of its market share due to its controversial sponsorship of Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender influencer who largely targets children in his voluminous TikTok videos. Retailer Target has lost at least $15 billion after prominently displaying transgender-friendly bathing suits. The Los Angeles Dodgers are facing the wrath of Catholics for allowing an anti-Catholic drag group to be honored on their field.
The rainbow is a symbol of God’s promise never to destroy the world by water again. The LGBT movement has stolen that symbol of monotheism as a symbol for its debauchery.
But propaganda works best when it’s done in a subtle way, and LGBT groups cannot be subtle. They cannot keep themselves from attacking children with their hedonism. In Burlington, Massachusetts, the children finally said, “Enough.”
