Polish Voters Defy EU Deep State, Demand Their Sovereignty and Heritage

The Poles are the latest Europeans to send the message that they want their storied nation to be sovereign and socially conservative. Political newcomer and former boxer Karol Nawrocki was officially declared president-elect on Monday, June 2.

Voter turnout was the largest since the election following the collapse of communism in 1989, at nearly 72 percent. Nawrocki defeated Warsaw’s leftist mayor Rafal Trzaskowski by a margin of less than two percent, with 50.9 percent of the votes.

Nawrocki’s victory is being attributed, at least in part, to the most visible politician in the world. The Wall Street Journal reports: “He got what was perhaps his biggest boost from more than 4,000 miles away, when President Trump gave him a nod of approval.… Trump’s backing might not have been the deciding factor in catapulting Nawrocki to Poland’s presidential palace, but it gave him an edge in a tight race.”

The Law and Justice Party tapped Nawrocki as its candidate six months ago. He is a Polish historian and an expert on communism and wrote his doctoral thesis on Poland’s anti-communist resistance. He reorganized the Museum of the Second World War in Gdansk, where he was born. Nawrocki is president of the Institute of National Remembrance, which conducts research on modern Polish history and investigates crimes committed during the Nazi and communist occupations. He is a former amateur boxer and soccer player.

Nawrocki’s victory is a blow to Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s liberal, pro-European Union government. While Nawrocki’s former opponent supported the prime minister’s vision of a Poland perfectly aligned with mainstream Europe, Nawrocki believes Poland has given enough of its autonomy to the Eurocrats in Brussels. In addition to opposing the suicidal migration policies EU globalists have leveled across the continent, he also opposes their climate-change policies.

When it comes to Ukraine, with which Poland shares more than 300 miles of border, he supports sending weapons. But he doesn’t support sending Poles. He signed off on party platform objectives that included not sending Polish troops to Ukraine and keeping Kyiv out of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for fear that it would draw Poland into a war with Russia.

Greta Thunberg: Crisis Shopping/Crisis Hopping, From Climate to Gaza

With the climate “emergency” in a (temporary) lull, media darling Greta Thunberg has found a new cause: Hamas and Gaza.

“Climate campaigner Greta Thunberg and other 11 activists set sail on Sunday afternoon for Gaza on a ship aimed at ‘breaking Israel’s siege’ of the devastated territory, organizers said.” Thus did the Associated Press kick off its story. “The sailing boat Madleen, operated by activist group Freedom Flotilla Coalition, departed from the Sicilian port of Catania, in southern Italy,” AP continued. “It will try to reach the shores of the Gaza Strip in an effort to bring in some aid and raise ‘international awareness’ over the ongoing humanitarian crisis, the activists said at a press conference on Sunday, ahead of departure. ‘We are doing this because, no matter what odds we are against, we have to keep trying,’ Thunberg said, bursting into tears during her speech.”

“Because the moment we stop trying is when we lose our humanity,” Thunberg said. “And no matter how dangerous this mission is, it’s not even near as dangerous as the silence of the entire world in the face of the live-streamed genocide.”

For the better part of a decade, the self-important Swedish activist has enjoyed unparalleled press coverage to help her recruit millions of school kids to the “green” crusade and amplify her histrionic scolding of world leaders at the UN ( “How Dare You! You have stolen my dreams and my childhood…”) with Al Gore-inspired visions of global-warming apocalypse and mass extinction. Now, the eco-warrior teenybopper has matured into a 22-year-old “human rights” harpy for Hamas. One needn’t be a pro-Israel Zionist or a supporter of the IDF tactics in Gaza to be suspicious of the pro-Hamas propaganda masquerading as “humanitarian” support for the Palestinian people. Reasonable, moral people may rightly oppose continued U.S. aid to Israel and sympathize with the plight of Gazan war victims. But it is a colossal mistake to allow misguided compassion to overtake discernment and draw one into support for Hamas’s terrorist cause. Whether on college campuses or the high seas, the communists and their leftist media comrades have hijacked the suffering of the Gaza Palestinians to dupe millions of people worldwide into becoming useful idiots for Hamas.

Have we seen this formula before? Many times. For a short list, consider: Ho Chi Minh and his communist Vietcong; Fidel Castro and his communist July 26 Movement; Nelson Mandela and his communist ANC; Daniel Ortega and his communist Sandinistas (FSLN); Hugo Chávez and his communist Revolutionary Bolivarian Movement; Ayatollah Khomeini and his communist Islamic revolution. There are many more examples, of course. But in all these cases, we see over and over again communist organizers and their media allies, along with the usual plethora of NGOs (invariably funded by governments and tax-exempt foundations) stirring up the masses with deception, lies, and propaganda. Columbia University, as during the “anti-war” campus riots of the 1960s and 1970s, is once again the center of chaos. The leaders of the Columbia coalition of more than 100 “student” organizations, which are supposedly concerned for those suffering in Gaza, revealed their true intent, declaring: “We are Westerners fighting for the total eradication of Western civilization.”

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, under whose banner Greta is floating her boat, like so many of the “pro-Palestinian” coalitions, is a menagerie of communist and far-left organizations exploiting Gaza for their own nefarious purposes. Need proof? See the Communist Party USA website or the CPUSA’s newspaper, People’s World (herehere, and here). Or, see the ultra-radical and violent Workers World Party (herehere, and here) and its front group ANSWER Coalition (herehere, and here). Or the Maoist Revolutionary Communist Party (herehere, and here).

Are the leading participants in the Palestinian Lobby truly looking out for the downtrodden of Gaza, or do they have a more sinister agenda? Consider their rap sheets: Muslim Student AssociationFree Gaza Movement, Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine DohrnInternational Solidarity MovementIslamic Students AssociationNoam ChomskyStudents for Justice in Palestine (SJP)American Muslims for PalestineCouncil on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)Leslie CaganGeorge GallowayDemocratic Socialists of America (DSA)The SquadBoycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, Palestine Solidarity Alliance, and, naturally, the Deep State media.

However, despite the overwhelming media barrage aimed at polarizing American and world opinion into irreconcilable Netanyahu or Hamas camps, occasionally even the controlled “mainstream” media allows a glimpse of real news. In case you missed it, over the past several months, Palestinians in Gaza have staged mass demonstrations against Hamas. These brave protests have gone largely unreported or underreported. But, surprisingly, they have received some coverage by BBCCNNCBSReutersPBS, and Amnesty International. — William F. Jasper

Europeans Waking Up to High Costs and Risks of “Green” Energy

“‘Wind energy more expensive, less stable and less secure,’ Swedish report finds” was the headline for a May 28 story in the EU-based Brussels Signal.

“A new study by Swedish think-tank the Scandinavian Policy Institute (SPI) has warned that the promotion of wind power as being cost-effective and reliable was misleading — at best,” the Brussels Signal reported.

“Sweden has strongly developed solar and wind power production capacity yet, at the same time,” the article continued, “the SPI researchers found that electricity prices had become more volatile. Making matters more pressing, future electricity demand was, they said in the report titled New Policy Brief: Electricity at any price?, bound to go up — in part mandated by the so-called ‘green’ transition.”

The article notes that the Swedish study provides a blistering reality check on the high costs and risks of reliance on wind power, while also demonstrating that projected costs and benefits of going green had been wildly exaggerated. — William F. Jasper

Belt and Road Initiative in Colombia Increases China’s Influence in Latin America

“Colombia’s formal accession to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) marks a historic step for the country,” Communist China’s Xinhua News Agency reported on May 27. Colombia, now run by President Gustavo Petro, a “former” member of M-19 communist terrorist organization, is well positioned to channel Xi Jinping’s grasp throughout Latin America. Xinhua interviewed Lina Luna, a sinologist and professor at the School of International Relations at the Externado University of Colombia, who praised the accession as a transformative move for Colombia.

“Colombia currently holds the pro tempore presidency of several regional integration mechanisms, including the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, a position that should be used to spearhead infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing regional integration in Latin America,” Professor Luna said. “With its strategic geographic location — bordering both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, sharing access to the Amazon, and serving as a bridge between Central and South America — Colombia is ideally positioned to become a communications and logistics hub for the region,” she said. — William F. State Legislative Update: Victories

Legislative sessions in most state legislatures have either ended for the year or are winding down. Despite the federal government’s massive growth over the last century, the states continue to have the greatest impact on Americans’ everyday lives, since they legislate on a wide range of topics including education, election integrity, medical freedom, and income and property taxes. Here is a partial list of state legislative victories — focusing on measures nullifying federal and international usurpations — so far this year:

  • Multiple states, including Alabama (S.B. 130), Arkansas (H.B. 1918), Florida (H.B. 999), Idaho (H. 177), Texas (H.B. 1056), and Wyoming (S.F. 96), enacted legislation to restore sound, constitutional money, including by recognizing gold and silver as legal tender and creating transactional currencies that bypass the Federal Reserve.
  • Montana (H.B. 350) and Tennessee (S.B. 263) enacted legislation nullifying the United Nations, World Health Organization, and World Economic Forum, joining multiple states that previously enacted similar legislation. Additionally, Tennessee enacted S.B. 669, which removes references to the World Health Organization from state statutes.
  • South Dakota enacted S.B. 81, which bans state or local governments from keeping firearm registries, and prevents financial entities from tracking firearm purchases via credit-card tracking codes — created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
  • Arkansas (S.B. 133) and Wyoming (H.B. 264) enacted legislation taking steps to ban and deny recognition of a potential federal central bank digital currency.
  • Utah enacted H.B. 380, which enshrines important constitutional principles into state law, including that the federal government’s constitutional powers are limited and states retain the vast majority of powers, building upon the Utah Constitutional Sovereignty Act enacted last year.
  • South Dakota enacted H.B. 1052, which bans eminent domain for carbon-capture pipelines, which are connected to the UN’s Agenda 2030. A similar bill in Iowa, H.F. 639, is currently awaiting the governor’s signature or veto.
  • Utah (H.B. 81) and Florida (S.B. 700) enacted legislation banning fluoride in public water, a direct vindication of The John Birch Society’s longtime support for medical freedom.

Of course, not every pro-state-sovereignty bill was successful. For example, although the Texas Sovereignty Act (S.B. 796), a strong pro-nullification measure, passed in the House, but it died in the Senate.

As state legislators return to their districts, take the initiative to inform them about Americanist and constitutional principles and the need to nullify unconstitutional federal acts and eliminate state dependence on federal funding. Covid “Trial of the Century”: The New American’s Exclusive Livestream Coverage

The landmark Covid wrongful-death lawsuit in Appleton, Wisconsin, began with jury selection on Monday, June 2. Scott Schara is suing a hospital and healthcare system along with several healthcare practitioners. He believes they intentionally targeted his 19-year-old daughter, Grace, because she had Down syndrome.

The New American is partnering with Children’s Health Defense to livestream the entire trial, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. until June 20. You can watch the livestream at TheNewAmerican.com or on our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@TheNewAmericanVideo

Opening statements kicked off the day on June 3. Afterwards, the prosecution called its first witness, the mother of the deceased, Cindy Schara. She introduced the jury to her daughter as a high-functioning and delightful young woman whose life was tragically cut short for a hospital’s monetary gain. Cindy described in painful detail the days and hours leading up to Grace’s death, breaking down in tears several times during testimony.

Despite her apparent exhaustion, defense attorneys immediately cross-examined her, painting her and her husband as crazed conspiracy theorists who believe that government-dictated hospital protocols during Covid were designed to kill.

For example, the defense attorney peppered Cindy with questions about her belief that the jab could cause a person to become sterile. He did so in a way to make her appear ridiculous, pulling up a particular quote from her original deposition and showing it to the jury on a large screen in the courtroom. However, her attorney followed up by panning back on the deposition transcript to reveal that the same attorney, during that deposition, had told her that he got the shot and is now fearful that he is sterile.

All of Wednesday, June 4, was taken up by testimony of Scott Schara, Grace’s father. He began with reminiscences of Grace: her talent, her intellect, her humor, and her habits. Then he gave a day-by-day, sometimes hour-by-hour, account of Grace’s hospital stay and death. He spoke of her admission on October 6, 2021, sedative overdose events on the following two days, the hospital’s reasons for kicking him out as Grace’s advocate on October 10, the lack of any informed consent for many medical interventions imposed on his daughter, and many other issues. Finally, Scott tearfully recounted Grace’s last hours and minutes.

On cross examination, defense attorneys followed the same script they used the day before on Cindy. They tried to frame him as a delinquent parent who was responsible for his daughter’s death due to his unreasonable delusions about Covid.

However, on redirect, his own attorney gave Scott a chance to explain to the jury why he believes Grace was targeted by the system. Scott provided statistics that indicate a clear discriminatory bias of the medical establishment against individuals with Down syndrome.

Scott also provided well-researched information about government-funded Covid-protocol incentives. For instance, he said that during the public health emergency, the federal government was paying hospitals tens and even hundreds of thousands of dollars to put patients on ventilators. He feels that this is why the hospital tried to pressure him to sign a pre-authorization for Grace. He refused, having researched the fact that 80 to 90 percent of patients put on ventilators did not survive their hospitalizations.

Scott revealed other mistreatment he endured at the hands of hospital staff. For example, they forced him to leave the premises on Grace’s fourth morning in the hospital, depriving her of her patient advocate to which she is entitled under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The reason he was given was that the nurses didn’t want him there. He had been trying to feed Grace, though they used the patient’s bi-pap mask as an excuse to prevent him. He had also proven the hospital’s medical equipment to be faulty and had silenced alarms going off on Grace’s medical equipment — but only according to instructions nurses had previously given him. Nevertheless, an armed guard escorted him from the building, and the phone number he was given to stay in contact with the hospital was 000-000-0000.

Three days later, his daughter died after being given multiple doses of sedative and anti-anxiety medications within a short span of time. The cause of death listed on her death certificate is respiratory arrest due to Covid.

DiLorenzo Tackles the Federal Reserve on “Behind the Deep State”

The Federal Reserve is one of the most powerful institutions destroying the U.S. economy and facilitating the never-ending expansion of government power and war, explains economist and Mises Institute President Thomas DiLorenzo in this video interview on Behind The Deep State with The New American magazine.

DiLorenzo, a former economics professor and author of many books on the subject, also goes into the shadowy origins of the privately owned bank as mega-bankers and power elites gathered in secret to create it. DiLorenzo explains in detail how the Fed’s manipulation of interest rates is extremely destructive. He also highlights the fact that its inflationary currency creation is hurting everyday people for the benefit of the powerful.

The Fed’s destructive role must be understood, and sound money must be restored, he argues.

Opposition Mounts Against the One Big Beautiful Bill

Elon Musk, the former head of DOGE and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, posted a sharp critique of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), the massive spending package passed by the House of Representatives last month.

In a post on X, Musk labeled the bill a “disgusting abomination” riddled with excessive spending and called out lawmakers who supported it, stating, “You know you did wrong.” His opposition has amplified concerns about the bill’s content and implications, with several Republican representatives echoing those concerns.

Representative Scott Perry (R-Pa.) aligned with Musk, criticized House leadership for ignoring warnings from the Freedom Caucus. After voting for the OBBB, Perry stated on X: “I wish I had a nickel for every time the @freedomcaucus sounded the alarm and nobody listened, only to find out the hard way we were right.” He urged the Senate to make “massive improvements” before the bill returns to the House.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) expressed concern over a specific provision buried on pages 278-279 of the OBBB, which she claims strips states of their rights to regulate artificial intelligence (AI) for a decade. Greene, who was unaware of this section when she voted for the bill, called it a “violation of state rights” and warned of the dangers of unchecked AI development. “We have no idea what AI will be capable of in the next 10 years,” she posted on X, stating she will vote against the bill if the text remains: “I will not vote for it with this in it.”

Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) also spoke out, criticizing the lack of transparency and accountability in the legislative process. In a post on X, she rejected “blind allegiance” to House GOP leadership, saying her critics should “start doing your jobs” and follow through on promises to the American people.
