New York City is handing over part of is police power to “a new global, terror-busting network to try to combat homegrown extremism,” according to a press statement issued September 29.
In an announcement made at the United Nations, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio proclaimed his city’s intent to join the United Nations and the Justice Department in protecting Gotham from “all forms of violent extremism, whether it’s based in religious, or racial, or nationalistic or ideological intolerance.”
The Justice Department claims that the new law-enforcement partnership program — dubbed “Strong Cities” — is intended to inspire “action on a global scale.”
“The Strong Cities Network will serve as a vital tool to strengthen capacity-building and improve collaboration,” said Attorney General Loretta Lynch. “As we continue to counter a range of domestic and global terror threats, this innovative platform will enable cities to learn from one another, to develop best practices and to build social cohesion and community resilience here at home and around the world.”
Cities around the world are gladly “integrating” their efforts to “safeguard” citizens.
This globalist approach to international integration of law enforcement was praised recently by the mayor of Oslo, Norway: “To counter violent extremism we need determined action at all levels of governance,” said Governing Mayor Stian Berger Røsland of Oslo. “To succeed, we must coordinate our efforts and cooperate across borders. The Strong Cities Network will enable cities across the globe to pool our resources, knowledge and best practices together and thus leave us standing stronger in the fight against one of the greatest threats to modern society,” he added.
According to Attorney General Lynch, the Strong Cities program “will be run by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD),” a European think-tank.
Americans of a constitutionalist bent, knowing how the Department of Homeland Security looks at patriots, might be interested to read one of the ISD’s primary points of emphasis. From the group’s 2014 report entitled “Old Threat, New Approach: Tackling the Far Right Across Europe”: “The project will also develop an online tool to provide practical training for practitioners, and will seed a long-term network of experts and practitioners working to counter far-right extremism.”
Echoing the globalist sentiment expressed by de Blasio and Lynch, the ISD promotes a pan-national approach to fighting the right-wing:
Though often rooted in its local context, far-right extremism has impacts across borders. Groups and methods in one country are often mirrored elsewhere, and online connectivity is making this more common. There is also evidence of cooperation between national groups and the pooling of knowledge and expertise.
One can only imagine how the Justice Department and the ISD will interpret the following mandate set out in the white paper:
National governments need to put in place legal recognition for victims groups across all prerequisites of discrimination. These prerequisites need to be based on historical and current evidence, as well as anticipate future targeted identities.
As is so often the case, the group identifies right-wing extremism with ownership of guns and ammunition.
Now that the Justice Department and the ISD have been handed a significant role in settling law-enforcement policy for the largest city in the United States, gun owners should consider fleeing New York in advance of the enforcement of the following ISD observation: “Worryingly, Europol confirms that many members of the extreme right-wing scene have been found in possession of a significant amount of firearms, ammunition” and these “extremists” have even been known to participate in “target practice.”
Remember, the mayor of New York City has ceded his citizens’ control over their police to a group of globalist gun grabbers who truly believe that owning guns and ammo and taking target practice make one an extremist worthy of imprisonment.
This move toward international integration of global law-enforcement agencies is antithetical to the locally controlled police that are a part of and accountable to the community they serve. The Strong Cities initiative will prove to likely be another brick in the wall of enmity between police and people that grows higher with every encounter.
Self-serving bureaucrats inside the U.S. government are tirelessly trying to obliterate local police forces answerable to local citizens and promote the consolidation movement as a step toward federalization of law enforcement. These proponents of regional and national police forces desire nothing less than the eradication of all local police departments and sheriffs’ offices, the surrender of state and municipal sovereignty, and the conversion of local law-enforcement officers into federal security agents sworn not to protect and to serve their neighbors, but to protect the prerogatives of politicians.
Take for example the information contained in a White Paper presented in 2012 to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In that report, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is encouraged to embark on an “evolving mission” away from its ostensible purpose of fighting terrorism, toward becoming the administrators of an enormous domestic intelligence agency resulting from an integration of the country’s local and state law-enforcement agencies.
This report was written by the Aspen Institute Homeland Security Group, co-chaired by former DHS chief Michael Chertoff. The blueprint promoted in the White Paper pushes Congress toward green-lighting the growth of DHS and the dissolution of local police and sheriffs.
The organization described in the paper, entitled “Homeland Security and Intelligence: Next Steps in Evolving the Mission,” is reminiscent of more draconian governments. For example, one section of the report calls for a transition in the mission of DHS away from protecting the country from the “terrorism” of foreign militants and toward “more specific homeward focused areas.” Additional sections of the report lay out the plans for building a DHS/police hybrid agency that can monitor Americans in any town and prevent threats from fellow citizens.
In order to achieve their ultimate aim, the globalists demand that DHS or some other federal agency take control of the personnel decisions currently made by local police chiefs and county sheriffs. “As the threat grows more localized,” the report claims, “the federal government’s need to train, and even staff, local agencies, such as major city police departments, will grow.” Put another way: The federal government will run your local police department and sheriff’s office.
With the creation of the Strong Cities Network, we see that now that the Obama administration has granted control of the consolidation of law enforcement to the ISD, the policies will not only be determined in Washington, D.C., but in Europe (and by extension the United Nations), as well.
As of September 30, 23 cities around the world have joined the Strong Cities Network, including New York, Atlanta, Denver, and Minneapolis in the United States.
Americans living in those cities must realize the powerful anti-Second Amendment, anti-religious bent of the Strong Cities Network, and they must immediately begin pressing police and civic leaders to leave this globalist gang and return control of law enforcement to the people it is meant to serve and protect, rather than disarming them and serving and protecting the international forces of civilian disarmament.
