During consideration of the so-called America COMPETES Act of 2022 (H.R. 4521), Representative Scott Perry (R-Pa.) introduced an amendment to withdraw the United States from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), a multilateral environmental treaty.

The House rejected Perry’s amendment on February 3, 2022 by a vote of 196 to 235 (Roll Call 27).
