The Biden administration has confirmed at least one aspect of the Biden-Burisma influence-peddling scheme.

State Department documents released to The New York Times confirm that Hunter Biden, a convicted felon, sought the federal government’s assistance for an Italian energy project that involved Burisma, the corrupt Ukrainian energy company. Hunter Biden was on the company’s board of directors.

The revelation comes a week after Special Prosecutor David Weiss confirmed another angle of the younger Biden’s relentless effort to sell his last name on behalf of foreign interests. A Romanian businessman paid Hunter to influence the government.

And that bad news came a month after Biden was convicted on three felony gun charges.

Biden-Burisma

Hunter Biden and his father have been the nexus of the Biden-Burisma scandal since before the 2020 election.

In 2015, while Hunter Biden was on Burisma’s board, then-Vice President Joe Biden forced Ukraine to fire a prosecutor who was investigating the company, or face losing $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees.

The Bidens have repeatedly lied about the affair, and the leftist mainstream media have provided cover by claiming that assertions about impropriety are a “debunked conspiracy theory.”

The documents prove otherwise.

“Hunter Biden sought assistance from the U.S. government for a potentially lucrative energy project in Italy while his father was vice president, according to newly released records and interviews,” the Times reported:

The records, which the Biden administration had withheld for years, indicate that Hunter Biden wrote at least one letter to the U.S. ambassador to Italy in 2016 seeking assistance for the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, where he was a board member.

Embassy officials appear to have been uneasy with the request from the son of the sitting vice president on behalf of a foreign company.

“I want to be careful about promising too much,” wrote a Commerce Department official based in the U.S. Embassy in Rome who was tasked with responding.

“This is a Ukrainian company and, purely to protect ourselves, U.S.G. should not be actively advocating with the government of Italy without the company going through the D.O.C. Advocacy Center,” the official wrote. Those acronyms refer to the United States government and a Department of Commerce program that supports American companies that seek business with foreign governments.

Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, powerhouse defender of the politically powerful, admitted that Hunter “‘asked various people,’ including the U.S. ambassador to Italy at the time, John R. Phillips, whether they could arrange an introduction between Burisma and the president of the Tuscany region of Italy, where Burisma was pursuing a geothermal project,” the Times continued.

But nothing came of it, and everything was on the up-and-up, Lowell said.

Biden Senior knew nothing about the matter, the White House claims. Then again, Biden has always said he knew nothing about his son’s globe-straddling dealings.

Disturbingly, the White House only released the records after President Biden was removed from this year’s presidential election in a Democrat Ruling Class coup that installed Vice President Kamala Harris as the candidate.

The State Department told the Times that the timing of the document dump was completely coincidental. The release was planned and OK’d before Biden was forced out.

Maybe, but the newspaper filed its request in June 2021, then sued eight months later when the State Department stonewalled.

Though the State Department tried to get the case dismissed after releasing “thousands of pages of records” that said nothing about Boy Biden, the Times “challenged the thoroughness of the search, noting that the department had failed to produce responsive records contained in a cache of files connected to a laptop that Mr. Biden had abandoned at a Delaware repair shop.”

That was the same laptop that the slavishly pro-Biden media and Biden himself said was “Russian disinformation.” That was another Big Lie from Biden Central.

Romanian Millions

As if the latest revelation weren’t bad enough, last week, Special Counsel David Weiss said a corrupt Romanian businessman hired Hunter Biden to “influence U.S. government policy” when his father was vice president, the Associated Press reported

A business associate will testify about the payments at the younger Biden’s forthcoming income-tax-evasion trial.

“Prosecutors plan to introduce evidence that Hunter Biden and his business associate ‘received compensation from a foreign principal who was attempting to influence U.S. policy and public opinion,’” the filing said, AP reported. “Popoviciu wanted U.S. government agencies to probe the Romanian bribery investigation he was facing in the hopes that would end his legal trouble, according to prosecutors.”

Hunter Biden was supposed to help Popoviciu defend himself against criminal charges. But the two arranged the payments so they “concealed the true nature of the work” for Popoviciu, AP reported:

Hunter Biden’s business associate and Popoviciu signed an agreement to make it look like Popoviciu’s payments were for “management services to real estate prosperities in Romania.” However, prosecutors said, “That was not actually what G.P. was paying for.”

In fact, Popoviciu and Hunter’s business associate agreed that they would be paid for their work to “attempt to influence U.S. government agencies to investigate the Romanian investigation,” prosecutors said. Hunter Biden’s business associate was paid more than $3 million, which was split with Hunter and another business partner, prosecutors say.

The House Oversight Committee explored the Biden-Popoviciu monkeyshines in May 2023.

Gun Conviction

And in yet another embarrassment for the Biden Mafia, a jury convicted Biden of three felony charges for lying on a federal form when he purchased a gun.

That case involved Biden’s purchase of a Colt Cobra 38SPL, which his wife found and threw in a trash bin outside a grocery store.

Biden lied on the forms that required him to attest that he was not a drug addict.
