A university professor who is an advisor for the Chinese Communist Party has declared that Beijing “won” the “biological warfare” battle against the United States.
Ping Chen, a professor of economics at Peking University, and senior research fellow at Fudan University, bragged in an unearthed video that the United States has been “beaten back to its original shape.”
The statement is notable in light of the western establishment’s recent backpedaling on claims that COVID-19 developed naturally. The media and organizations such as the World Health Organization have long derided the notion that the virus originated in a lab in Wuhan, China, yet mainstream outlets are now revising their position.
In the video, Chen commented that “in 2020, China won the trade war, science & technology war, and especially the biological war.”
According to his resume, Chen “served as an expert advisor to China’s Ministry of Labor and Social Security, China Development Bank, Shanghai City government, and Fengyang County in Anhui Province.”
“The achievement is unprecedented. This is an epoch-making historical record. So for the liberal, America-worshiping cult within China, their worship of the US is actually unfounded. After this trade war and biological warfare, the US was beaten back to its original shape,” he added.

Chen, who is a research fellow at Columbia University’s Center of Capitalism and Society, went on to say, “So I think Trump’s attempt to restore the declining international status of the US during his 4 years has failed.”
“This failure is not only the failure of Trump’s personal campaign for re-election as president, but also the failure of the neo-liberalism-led globalization of the past four decades led by the US and the UK. Therefore, the development & modernization model of the US and Europe is not worthy of China’s imitation and repetition.”
Mainstream media outlets and members of the western policy establishment have now acknowledged the possibility that COVID-19 originated in a lab.
Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor, now supports an open investigation of the coronavirus origins, saying earlier this month he is “not convinced” it developed naturally.
“Certainly, the people who investigated it say it likely was the emergence from an animal reservoir that then infected individuals, but it could have been something else, and we need to find that out. So, you know, that’s the reason why I said I’m perfectly in favor of any investigation that looks into the origin of the virus,” said Fauci.
In a letter published Friday in the journal Science, 18 scientists wrote, “We must take hypotheses about both natural and laboratory spillovers seriously until we have sufficient data. Public health agencies and research laboratories alike need to open their records to the public.”
This followed a March report from a team of World Health Organization-led scientists found a lab leak to be the “least likely” hypothesis. However, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the WHO, stated that the possibility requires “further investigation” because the team lacked access to sufficient raw data to adequately analyze the likelihood of any single hypothesis.
According to Newsweek, at least some of the U.S. tax subsidies that went to the Wuhan Institute of Virology came from Fauci’s NIAID.
