Speaking at a United Nations “climate” summit in Paris, Obama blamed America for alleged man-made global warming and claimed that the nation embraces its responsibility to “do something” about the alleged problem. That “something,” of course, at least in the administration’s view, involves redistributing the wealth of embattled U.S. taxpayers to Third World governments and dictatorships for climate reparations, as well as shackling the American economy with draconian controls to reduce emissions of what serious scientists know as the “gas of life.” Sounding like a wannabe messiah, Obama even claimed that “we finally determined we would save our planet.” However, lawmakers in Congress and the American people have made clear that they neither believe in the increasingly discredited anthropogenic global-warming (AGW) theory nor in the alleged solutions to the supposed problem.
Dictators and other heads of state have typically arrived at UN conferences toward the end of the show. This time, however, hoping desperately to secure a global “climate” agreement where past summits have failed, UN organizers decided Obama and other “world leaders” should show up at the start. Obama complied, spewing gargantuan amounts of CO2 and arriving in Paris to deliver various speeches hyping the AGW theory, along with illegal pledges to hand out your money. “I’ve come here personally, as the leader of the world’s largest economy and the second-largest emitter, to say that the United States of America not only recognizes our role in creating this problem, we embrace our responsibility to do something about it,” Obama claimed at the ongoing conference, which featured some 150 dictators and heads of government and state.
Of course, Obama is not the “leader” of the “world’s largest economy.” His job description is to serve as the chief executive of the federal government, to faithfully execute the laws, and to uphold and defend the Constitution. His other claims were even more ludicrous. For instance, the notion that America recognizes its alleged role in creating the alleged problem could not be more wrong. According to a Pew survey released last year, just 40 percent of Americans even believe the increasingly discredited AGW theory. And without a doubt, far less than that would agree that the nation should shackle its economy and redistribute its wealth to Third World regimes under the guise of dealing with a problem that the overwhelming majority of Americans do not even believe exists.
Obama also apparently sought to deceive his fellow rulers by touting his unconstitutional and illegitimate decrees, without noting that the American people’s elected representatives, state governments, and the courts are currently in the process of dismantling those decrees. “Over the last seven years, we’ve made ambitious investments in clean energy, and ambitious reductions in our carbon emissions,” he told the UN and its member regimes, touting half-baked, taxpayer-funded “renewable energy” schemes imposed by the federal government (such as the now-bankrupt crony solar company Solyndra, which put huge sums of taxpayer funds into the pockets of Obama donors). Obama also touted his rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline and the “the first-ever set of national standards” purporting to regulate what Obama referred to as “carbon pollution.”
Of course, CO2, exhaled by every human being and included in every soda you drink, is not “pollution.” Rather, carbon dioxide, as every scientist knows, is an essential-to-life gas required by plants and ultimately, all life on the planet. Human emissions of CO2, meanwhile, make up a fraction of one percent of all the “greenhouse gases” present naturally in the atmosphere, with water vapor alone accounting for some 95 percent. And Obama’s unconstitutional “national standards” purporting to regulate the “gas of life,” basically lawless EPA decrees that Obama promised would make electricity rates “skyrocket,” are currently under attack in Congress, which controls the federal purse strings, and by more than half of states, which are suing the administration for illegally usurping powers that it does not possess. More than a few lawmakers have vowed to defund the unconstitutional scheming, assuming the courts do not strike it down first.
Sounding like an apocalyptic preacher of doom, Obama also promised that unless humanity repented of its carbon-emission sins by submitting to a UN “climate” regime and paying carbon indulgences, the wrath of Mother Earth would surely come down upon the world. “Submerged countries. Abandoned cities. Fields that no longer grow,” he threatened, warning of the supposed consequences of alleged man-made global warming. “Political disruptions that trigger new conflict, and even more floods of desperate peoples seeking the sanctuary of nations not their own.” In other words, submit to Obama’s AGW antics and the UN climate regime, or face certain doom at the hands of the climate gods, who will flood your country with refugees, submerge your cities, and destroy your fields.
Still, Obama celebrated his actions to appease the climate gods. “For our part, America is on track to reach the emissions targets that I set six years ago in Copenhagen — we will reduce our carbon emissions in the range of 17 percent below 2005 levels by 2020,” Obama said, apparently oblivious to the actual constitutional role of a U.S. president, which does not include setting arbitrary “emissions targets” to control economic activity and energy production. “And that’s why, last year, I set a new target: America will reduce our emissions 26 to 28 percent below 2005 levels within 10 years from now.” That “target” was agreed to in a pseudo-treaty with the brutal Communist Chinese dictator that was never ratified by the Senate and is, therefore, null and void.
Beyond just “saving the planet,” Obama claimed his agenda in Paris was to create “an enduring framework for human progress.” That “framework,” or straitjacket, should not be just a “stopgap solution” to imaginary problems like AGW, but a “long-term strategy that gives the world confidence in a low-carbon future,” he said. Sounding like a fascist seeking to harness what little remains of the free market for his Big Government agenda, Obama also advocated new controls to guide economic production and consumption. “And finally, here in Paris, let’s show businesses and investors that the global economy is on a firm path towards a low-carbon future,” he said.
“If we put the right rules and incentives in place, we’ll unleash the creative power of our best scientists and engineers and entrepreneurs to deploy clean energy technologies and the new jobs and new opportunities that they create all around the world,” Obama continued without elaborating on what sort of “rules” he and his fellow world rulers — think Robert Mugabe, Kim Jong Un, Vladimir Putin, Raul Castro, Xi Jinping, and others — had in mind. To better understand the implications of those statements, though, simply consider that Obama’s “Green Jobs” Czar Van Jones was forced to resign after his own public statements exposed him as a self-declared revolutionary communist plotting the overthrow of America’s constitutional system of government.
For Third World dictators who have impoverished and oppressed their populations, meanwhile, Obama promised big bailouts, saying: “Let’s make sure that the countries who don’t yet have the full capacity to report on their targets receive the support that they need.” By “countries,” of course, he means governments and dictatorships, which are demanding massive amounts of climate loot from Western taxpayers in exchange for playing along with the charade taking place in Paris. Indeed, the G77 plus China group of Third World regimes has already issued a public statement demanding lots of money from Western taxpayers if they are going to agree to help impose the UN climate regime on their victims.
Obama did not disappoint. “Here in Paris, let’s reaffirm our commitment that resources [money from Western taxpayers] will be there for countries [Third World governments and dictators] willing to do their part to skip the dirty phase of development,” Obama added, without explaining what was “dirty” about lifting people out of poverty, ignorance, and disease through liberty, economic growth, energy production, and market-driven prosperity. “Here in Paris, let’s also make sure that these resources [money from Western taxpayers] flow to the countries [Third World governments and dictators] that need help preparing for the impacts of climate change that we can no longer avoid.”
No Obama speech on climate would be complete without the obligatory fear-mongering about what will happen if you refuse to submit to his agenda. To that effect, Obama cited his widely ridiculed recent trip to Alaska this year, where he made similarly prophecies and brazenly false statements (debunked by his own government scientists), as a “ preview of one possible future” if humanity does not take action to “address” climate change and appease the climate gods with carbon indulgences.
But the gas of life and abundant energy supplies are not the only enemy that must be battled, Obama said. “One of the enemies that we’ll be fighting at this conference is cynicism, the notion we can’t do anything about climate change,” he said, as if humans and their puny CO2 emission controlled the global climate rather than nature, the sun, the oceans, the clouds, and ultimately, the Almighty. “Our progress should give us hope during these two weeks — hope that is rooted in collective action.” In other words, if Obama gets his way, Americans must submit to the “collective action” of the UN, often ridiculed as the dictators club by critics due to its largely autocratic membership. Obama even boasted that “nearly 200 nations [governments and dictators] have assembled here,” without, of course, noting that not a single one of those nations shares the traditions of liberty protected by America’s Constitution.
Rather than hand over more money, sovereignty, and freedom to appease the UN and its mostly autocratic member governments under the guise of “saving the planet,” Congress should protect the American people from the radical agenda being pushed by Obama, the UN, and hostile foreign powers. An easy way to do that would be defund Obama’s climate antics and all of the federal agencies being abused by the administration to impose its unconstitutional decrees on the nation. Then, lawmakers should defund the UN and eventually withdraw U.S. government membership in the dictators club once and for all.
