A black woman was called a racial slur in Seattle’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) for pointing out the hypocrisy of Black Lives Matter’s (BLM) support of Planned Parenthood.
In video posted on Twitter by Turning Point USA Chief Creative Officer Benny Johnson, pro-life activist Edmee Chavannes (shown on right) is shown shouting to CHAZ protesters about the devastating effects abortion has had on the black community.
“Why don’t I see my brothers and my sisters outside Planned Parenthood?” she asks. “We need you all there. Number-one killer of the black population is Planned Parenthood.”
There is no arguing with that assertion. About 40 percent of all abortions in the United States are obtained by black women, which means that roughly 345,000 black babies are killed in the womb every year. In New York City, more black babies are aborted than born.

Of course, eliminating blacks and other “unfit” populations was always the purpose of Planned Parenthood, whose founder, Margaret Sanger, sought to breed a “cleaner race” of humans through birth control. To her credit, Sanger was adamantly opposed to abortion, but Planned Parenthood got into the abortion business soon after she died and quickly rose to become the nation’s largest abortion provider. Not coincidentally, “the majority of abortion centers are located in predominantly black and Hispanic areas,” noted the pro-life Radiance Foundation.
Planned Parenthood also doesn’t take kindly to losing business to pro-life demonstrators. Chavannes and Bevelyn Beatty were arrested outside a Manhattan Planned Parenthood clinic May 30 for violating New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s stay-at-home order. Meanwhile, the city has seen fit to allow thousands of people to demonstrate for BLM, and Mayor Bill de Blasio has even participated in some of the protests.
“We’re black women but we do not support Black Lives Matter because they’re hand-in-hand with Planned Parenthood that kills African-American babies,” Beatty told Fox News. “They’re fraudulent hypocrites … and I believe all lives matter because God created them. There are thousands of George Floyds that die every day in their mother’s womb and it’s just as injust [sic] as when he died at the hands of that police officer.”
Back in CHAZ, Chavannes was direct. “I don’t see Black Lives Matter in front of a Planned Parenthood,” she said.
Just the opposite, in fact, is true: “The Black Lives Matter movement’s leaders announced solidarity with the abortion industry back in 2015; they actively partner with and defend the leading killer of black lives — Planned Parenthood,” the Radiance Foundation’s Ryan Bomberger told LifeSiteNews.
As Chavannes continued confronting the CHAZ protesters with BLM’s hypocrisy, one black woman tried to drown her out, and another called her a “coon.” According to LifeSiteNews, “A racial slur with roots in the 19th century, the word ‘coon’ is now used by some African Americans to denote black people they perceive as defending white racism.”
Undaunted, Chavannes continued exhorting the crowd to turn its attention to the real source of their misery. Even if the police were eliminated, she observed, blacks “would still kill [their] babies.”
“You get rid of the police, and we’ll still kill one another,” she said. “Why? Because we, as a black community, don’t have the fathers that we need. We don’t have the fear of the Lord.”
Chavannes took time to speak with a black man who cited oppression of blacks as the cause of their troubles. She agreed that there had been oppression but said the problem now is that blacks have “lost [their] way.”
“Black women used to respect black men,” she explained. “Black women have lost their way.”
Black men, too, have gone astray, she averred. Instead of fighting for their families as they once did, now they “just impregnate women and take them to the Planned Parenthood clinic.”
Chavannes is to be commended for her courage, and one hopes that her efforts will not be in vain. The reception accorded them, however, is not encouraging. “A black immigrant female preacher calls out the hypocrisy on abortion, the epidemic of fatherlessness, and the need for God and she gets called a ‘coon’ by a BLM activist!” Bomberger told LifeSiteNews. “That truly sums up the blatant ignorance of a confused and racist movement. Clearly, only some #blacklivesmatter.”
