Both Axios and Business Insider have revealed Republican plans to investigate the Biden administration intensely following their expected victory in November. As The New American reported, even a major Democrat pollster has surrendered, holding that the Republicans are likely to win the House “in a landslide.”

Axios claims to have exclusively obtained plans by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to begin at least seven investigations, including:

The leak of a “vast cache of IRS information” to ProPublica alleging that numerous billionaires paid little or nothing in taxes;

The claim by Fox News host Tucker Carlson that the National Security Agency (NSA) spied on his show;

Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garlands vow to send the FBI after parents who allegedly issued “threats of violence against school board members;”

The surge of illegals into the country in violation of his Constitutional requirement to “take care that the laws [enacted by the Legislative branch] be faithfully executed;”

Confirming the origins of the COVID virus;

Questioning the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) over its various communications concerning the virus; and

Who was responsible for the botched withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

Business Insider added to the list of potential investigations, including looking into:

Hunter Biden’s art sales in exchange for political favors and access to his father; and

Possible impeachment of Joe Biden for committing “high crimes and misdemeanors” during his first term in office.

Representative James Comer (R-Ky.) can hardly wait. The top Republican on the powerful House Oversight and Reform Committee, he would become its chairman. He told Business Insider:

Everyone’s frustrated with the Biden administration. What they see in Congress now is absolutely no oversight to the Biden administration.

Like who was held accountable for Afghanistan? Who’s held accountable for the lack of border security? No one.

Someone needs to hold them accountable and provide oversight, and we’re going to do that….

We’ve got problems with just about every one of [Biden’s cabinet members] with respect to oversight.

All of this is predicated on a number of assumptions, including the near-certainty that the GOP will regain control of the House in the November elections. If that happens, it is assumed that Representative Kevin McCarthy, currently the House minority leader, will replace Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House in 2023. It also assumes that the wave of incumbents will include a large number of true constitutionalists not beholden to the Republican Party leadership.

McCarthy’s voting record is cause for alarm. Serving in the House starting in the 110th Congress in 2007, he has compiled a lifetime rating on The New American’s Freedom Index, based on how closely his votes have hewed to the Constitution, of just 60 percent. He votes as the wind blows, apparently, as his rating has been as low as 43 percent and as high as 92 percent. This is a measure of his uncertain commitment to his oath of office.

On the other hand, Business Insider suggested that Representative Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) could chair a Judiciary subcommittee, leading some to suggest he might, given sufficient backing, become Speaker of the House in place of McCarthy.

Gaetz’s voting record, compared to McCarthy’s, is exemplary, ranging from a low of 74 in the 115th Congress (2017-2018) to 100 percent in the current 117th Congress.

If that were to happen, then the agenda for the next Congress would likely change. Instead of exacting retribution for all the sins committed by the Biden administration and the Democrat-controlled House, the new Congress could instead look not only to blocking any new Biden administration initiatives but to begin to repair the damage wrought by the present administration.

It could start by exposing the perfidy of the foreign policy that presently favors America’s No. 1 enemy, communist-controlled China. It could begin charging communists infesting the Biden administration with treason to the United States.

This would lay the groundwork for further victories for freedom in the presidential election in 2024, heralding a serious rebuilding of the Republic so sorely damaged by the present administration.
