Green May Be Censured for Antics During Trump Speech; Dems Embarrass Themselves

The U.S. House of Representatives will almost certainly censure far-left Democratic U.S. Representative Al Green of Texas for his shameful performance during President Donald Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress last night.

Green’s antics ended when House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) threw him out of the chamber. But left behind were sourpuss Democrats who refused to applaud the everyday Americans whom Trump mentioned in his speech. Instead, the seething Democrats held up ridiculous signs. They stared at their smartphones. The glowering herd showed Americans just who they are.

And, amusingly, after the Democrats uncomfortably smoldered in their seats for the 1-hour-39-minute talk, a CBS News poll showed that almost 80 percent of Americans surveyed agreed with the president.

Bye-bye Al

Trump was just a few paragraphs into his oration when Green stood up and began shouting like a lunatic, pointing his cane at Trump.

The unhinged congressman shouted that Trump had “no mandate” to cut Medicaid, and other Democrats joined him. Republicans shouted them down with chants of “USA! USA! USA!”

“Members are directed to uphold and maintain decorum in the House, and to cease any further disruptions,” Speaker Johnson said:

That’s your warning. Members are engaging in willful and continuing breach of decorum, and the chair is prepared to direct the sergeant at arms to restore order to the joint session.

But Green refused to back down even after Johnson repeatedly warned him.

“Mr. Green, take your seat. Take your seat, sir. Take your seat,” Johnson said:

Finding that members continue to engage in willful and concerted disruption of proper decorum, the chair now directs the sergeant at arms to restore order. Remove this gentleman from the chamber.

And there went the petulant congressman.

Today, GOP Representative Dan Newhouse of Washington introduced a resolution to censure Green.

“Whereas the conduct of the Representative from Texas disrupted the proceedings of the joint address and was a breach of proper conduct; and whereas after numerous disruptions, the Representative from Texas had to be removed from the chamber by the Sergeant at Arms; now, therefore, be it resolved that Representative Al Green be censured,” the resolution says.

The resolution orders Green to present himself in the well to be censured.

“Newhouse dismissed the notion that the move was aimed at improving his relationship with Trump and his allies,” The Hill reported, “given he is one of two House Republicans remaining in Congress who voted to impeach Trump” after the mostly peaceful protest at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Afterward, even former Clinton torpedo David Axelrod called Green’s behavior “despicable.”

“Disgraceful” Performance

Bad as the optics of Green’s behavior were, the Democrats did nothing to improve their standing with Americans.

The theater continued, with Democrats holding up printed signs claiming “Musk Steals,” “Save Medicaid,” and “Protect Veterans.” Another simply said “false,” while radical Islamist Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib of Michigan held up a handwritten message: “That’s a lie.”

Other angry Democrats stormed out the proceedings.

“I love when the trash takes itself out,” Representative Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) wrote on X when Democratic colleagues Jasmine Crockett of Texas and Maxwell Frost of Florida exited.

Also departing the speech, The Hill noted, were Democratic Representatives Mark Pocan of Wisconsin, Lloyd Doggett of Texas, Judy Chu and Jared Huffman of California, Veronica Escobar of Texas, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Jamie Raskin of Maryland, Pramila Jayapal of Washington, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

Worse still, however, was that Democrats didn’t applaud or stand for the families of Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray, both murdered by Biden “migrants” caught and released at the border.

Nor did they acknowledge D.J. Daniel, a 13-year-old who survived brain cancer, wants to be a cop, and was made an honorary Secret Service agent on the spot.

“Democrats refused to stand or clap for a little boy fighting cancer,” Libs of TikTok wrote on X. “Truly sick people.”

GOP strategist Scott Presler echoed that, saying, “Democrats didn’t even stand for the boy who survived brain cancer.”

Nor did the party of “transgenders” acknowledge former volleyball player Payton McNabb.

“Three years ago, Payton McNabb was an all-star high school athlete, one of the best, preparing for a future in college sports,” Trump said:

But when her girls’ volleyball match was invaded by a man, he smashed the ball so hard in Payton’s face, causing traumatic brain injury, partially paralyzing her right side and ending her athletic career. It was a shot like she’s never seen before. She’s never seen anything like it. Payton is here tonight in the gallery, and Payton, from now on, schools will kick the men off the girls’ team or they will lose all federal funding.

The Democrats sat. And scowled. And scrolled their far-left social media feeds.

Audience member Eithan Haim noted, “It was heart-breaking to see.”

He continued:

During these moments I could see entire rows of Democrats staring down at their phones.

I was close enough to see what they were looking at — most were texting or scrolling through social media feeds.

Rachel Maddow and Nicolle Wallace of MSNBC, a failing Democratic Party megaphone, were as bad as the Democrats in the House chamber.

Maddow accused Trump of “politicizing” young Daniel’s cancer, while Wallace said something worse:

I hope he has a long life as a law enforcement officer, but I hope he never has to defend the United States Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters.

And if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide.

White House spokesman Karoline Leavitt unloaded on Democrats in today’s press briefing.

“The behavior of Democrats last night was completely disgraceful and demonstrated how severely out of touch they are with the American public,” she said:

It was the most shameful moment in the history of presidential addresses in that beautiful chamber. In what was supposed to be a unifying moment for our country, Democrat members of Congress instead screamed at the president of the United States who was just overwhelmingly reelected by their constituents, walked out of the chamber, and, worst of all, they disrespected the American people.

Democrats didn’t stand to keep men out of women’s sports. They couldn’t even clap for a girl who got her head smashed in by a man on a volleyball court. Democrats didn’t stand for an innocent and beautiful child who is surviving brain cancer.

The bad news for puerile Democrats: Seventy-six percent of Americans polled after the speech approved of it.
