Reporting on the ground at the United Nations’ headquarters for The Summit of the Future, The New American’s Alex Newman pressed attendees about their opinions on Donald Trump. While the former president is a “favorite of the USA,” attendees agree that Trump is a threat to the institution. Advocating for Kamala Harris, a Pakistani journalist opined that Harris is “very competent and very strong.” Another attendee, Sara Pires, the President of the Executive Board for Common Home of Humanity, shared with Newman that a Trump victory would call for an “even stronger Summit of the Future,” noting that a safeguard against the “challenges” of a second Trump administration would be reforming the United Nations’ Security Council, further eroding U.S. sovereignty.
