Alleged cop-killer Christopher Dorner, a Navy reservist and former officer with the Los Angeles Police Department who declared war on his former LAPD colleagues in a manifesto praising Obama and gun control, was confirmed dead by authorities on February 14 following a standoff with law enforcement ending Tuesday in a deadly blaze. In addition to Dorner, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremiah MacKay was also killed, reportedly shot by the rogue ex-cop at the mountain cabin where the rampage finally ended. Another deputy was reportedly wounded during a shoot-out. 

Following a series of similar widely ridiculed so-called “sting” operations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced last week that it had foiled yet another “terror plot” that, like virtually every supposed “terrorist” case in recent years, was created and managed from start to finish by the FBI itself. This time, the dupe was a 28-year-old California man, Matthew Aaron Llaneza, with a documented history of mental illness, who apparently believed his government handlers were helping him wage “jihad.” Critics, however, say the whole scheme smacks of entrapment and a waste of taxpayer money.

Homeschooling advocates are up in arms after Obama’s Justice Department, led by disgraced Attorney General Eric Holder, claimed that a ban on home education was not a violation of fundamental human rights and that, as such, the ruthlessly persecuted Romeike family should be deported to Germany. Experts say deporting the innocent homeschoolers to face barbaric German authorities — infamous worldwide for lawlessly abducting homeschooled children and jailing home-educating parents — would be bad enough. Particularly troubling for Americans in general, however, is that the case could set a dangerous precedent for U.S. freedom, too.

Liberty-minded firearm companies concerned about recent assaults on the gun rights of law-abiding citizens are taking action to defend the Second Amendment even if it means lost revenue, with several major firms announcing that they would no longer be supplying equipment to hostile state and local governments or their police forces. Both New York and California — where out-of-touch politicians continue to trample on citizens’ constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms — have become primary targets. Activists and the companies are urging others to join the effort against more gun control now.

Among the manufacturers that have publicly announced their plans to prohibit sales to anti-Second Amendment authorities so far are LaRue Tactical, Olympic Arms, Extreme Firepower (EFI, LLC), and Barrett Firearms.

Under the guise of fighting a more vigorous “war on drugs,” the Obama administration will continue adding to the exploding government deficit by expanding the already widespread and extremely costly U.S. military presence throughout Latin America. Critics in the U.S. and all across the Western hemisphere, however, have slammed the controversial scheme’s growth from all angles.

A deeply controversial and secretive education curriculum system known as “CSCOPE,” used by more than two thirds of Texas schools, has come under heavy fire in recent weeks, with critics saying it promotes anti-Christian propaganda and so-called “progressive” values at odds with American traditions of liberty and self-government. Parents, teachers, experts, activists, and others were outraged. After lawmakers got involved, however, critics scored some partial victories against the program.

The ex-Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer accused of hunting down and murdering his former colleagues over alleged corruption, 33-year-old Christopher Jordan Dorner, released a “manifesto” online praising President Obama and the U.S. government while demanding more gun control. He also applauded a range of politicians including Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, some “moderate” Republicans, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), as well as media figures like CNN’s Anderson Cooper and extreme anti-Second Amendment zealot Piers Morgan.

As if Obama’s politicized Justice Department was not embroiled in enough scandals — Fast and Furious gun-trafficking to Mexican drug cartels, the subsequent coverup and lies, disgraced Attorney General Eric Holder held in criminal contempt of Congress, lawless “legal memos” purporting to justify assassinating U.S. citizens without charge or trial, training police to believe Americans may be terrorists for political activism, and more — there is now yet another travesty to add to the growing list. Documents released recently exposed the department working intimately with one of the most controversial extremist groups in America. 

E-mails released last Tuesday by the non-partisan Judicial Watch group showed that Obama’s increasingly out-of-control Department of Justice was collaborating closely with the ultra-leftist Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

As state lawmakers all across America craft nullification legislation to defy unconstitutional federal gun-control schemes and sheriffs openly vow to protect the Second Amendment regardless of what Obama or Congress say, municipal and county governments are getting involved in the action, too. In fact, in recent weeks, several local governments have unanimously approved ordinances and resolutions nullifying any and all lawless restrictions on gun rights.

As the Obama administration and Congress continue to rack up trillions of dollars in debt while the Federal Reserve conjures ever-greater sums of fiat currency into existence out of thin air, lawmakers in Texas have officially become the latest policymakers to openly explore the potential consequences. Legislation filed recently in the Lone Star State would, among other points, require a study on the effects of having to become partially or completely independent of the federal government in case Washington is unable to function due to financial chaos.

Known as the "Texas Self-Sufficiency Act," House Bill 568 does not call for secession from the United States — a proposal that has been gaining increasing popularity among some segments of the Texan population fed up with an out-of-control central government.
