Wall St. Protesters Push “Robin Hood” Tax

The Occupy Wall Street demonstrators are continuing their march toward globalism as they have now endorsed a global tax system, to be instituted and monitored by a new global government. With the G20 summit set to take place November 3 in France, the directors of the Wall Street protests are now setting their sights on the implementation of the “Robin Hood tax” on all transactions involving shares, bonds, and derivatives, and possibly other items as well.

According to protesters, the funds raised from the Robin Hood tax would be put toward worthy causes such as reducing poverty in the third world and combating climate change.

Journalist Patrick Henningsen, however, noted of the Robin Hood tax:

[It is] an identical transaction-tax scam to the one proposed by globalists at the 2009 UN COP15 Climate Summit in Copenhagen, where a number of new taxes on financial transactions and new carbon taxes would be put into a giant “slush fund” to be handled by none other than the World Bank.

Ultimately, any Robin Hood Tax will most likely end up in a giant fund to “ensure that banks are adequately capitalized,” and one which will be used to bail out, or insure big bank losses and trillions in gambling derivative bets gone bad.

In short, the Robin Hood tax will come from hard-working taxpayers only to go to groups such as the Federal Reserve and the very system that the Occupy Wall Street people are supposedly protesting.

The driver of these particular demands, reports Reuters, is Adbusters, said to be the brains behind the entire Occupy Movement:

Canada-based Adbusters wants the Occupy Wall Street protest movement against economic inequality to take to the streets to call for a 1 percent tax on such deals ahead of a November 3-4 summit of the Group of 20 leading economies in France. …

Adbusters put out the initial call for Occupy Wall Street and since protesters set up camp in a park in New York Citys financial district on September 17, they have inspired solidarity demonstrations and so-called occupations around the world.

Adbusters website reads:

Lets send them a clear message: We want you to slow down some of that $1.3 trillion easy money thats slashing around the global casino each day enough cash to fund every social program and environmental initiative in the world.

Henningsen contends that “Robin Hood” will be yet another tax avoided by the big institutions which the OWS movement is protesting against:

If any of the 99% truly believe that the top tier banks would happily give away trillions per year to the new Robin Hood Taxman, then think again. Their new tax will likely be imposed most stringently on small to medium size institutions and fund managers in an effort to drive out any competition to the mega banks who already enjoy cuts to corporate income tax, and in some cases, pay no tax at all. Big banks are safe, but smaller competition will surely be hit hard by a Robin Hood Tax ensuring the current hierarchy stays exactly as it is. This has always been the way when blanket government regulations and punitive taxes come into play.

Critics of the OWS protests question why a group that allegedly opposes the increasing unemployment and inflation would demand a giant new system of taxation that likely would result in more of the same. Because it has become abundantly clear that the federal government is incapable of responsibly handling taxpayer dollars, critics question the wisdom of a group which calls for increased government control particularly as the Obama administration is currently residing over the largest budget deficit in American history.

Unless, of course, the touted motivations of the OWS movement are not its true intentions. It all begins to make sense, observers note, if one recognizes that the movement’s actual agenda is to establish a global government. Many of the protesters rather than calling for an end to the unconstitutional Federal Reserve which is largely behind the nations economic woes, working for a return to gold-backed money not controlled by a global elite, and seeking to end burdensome government regulations are being misled into demanding the surrendering of U.S. sovereignty to the globalists. These protesters are likely to be unaware of this agenda, serving as nothing more than the useful idiots to whom Vladimir Lenin is said to have alluded.

The globalist influence of the movement is becoming increasingly more prevalent. Last week, The New American reported on the influence of the UNPA Campaign (Establishment of the United Nations Parliamentary Assembly) on the OWS protests. Just prior to the start of the protests, the website for the UNPA Campaign describing itself as a global network of parliamentarians and non-governmental organizations advocating citizens representation of the United Nations reported that a group of leftists issued a manifesto that includes a strong call for global democracy and, in particular, democratic rule over the international financial system.

That manifesto had the full support of the UNPA Campaign because it called for the democratizing of globalist networks such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organization, the European Central Bank, and the UN Security Council. According to the manifesto:

Undemocratic international institutions are our global Mubarak, our global Assad, our global Gaddafi. Like Mubarak and Assad, these institutions must not be allowed to run peoples lives without their consent. We are all born equal, rich or poor, woman or man. Every African and Asian is equal to every European and American. Our global institutions must reflect this, or be overturned.

The document continues, More than ever before, global forces shape peoples lives [and] citizens of the world must get control over the decisions that influence them in all levels-from global to local. That is global democracy. That is what we demand today.

Likewise, calls for global democracy could be heard at some of the OWS protests. For example, advertisements for the protest in Los Angeles stated:

United for Global Democracy. On October 15, 2011, united in our diversity, united for global change, we demand global democracy, global governance by the people for the people, inspired by our sisters and brothers in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Bahrain, Palestine-Israel, Spain, and Greece, we too call for a regime change, a global regime change, today we demand replacing the G8 with the whole of humanity, the G7,000,000,000.

Likewise, the Adbusters website admits as much when it encourages the protesters to amp up the edgy theatrics in the form of deviant pranks, subversive performances and playful detournements of all kinds. Why? It continues:

Open up your insurrectionary imagination. Anything, from a bottom-up transformation of the global economy to changing the way we eat, the way we get around, the way we live, love and communicatebe the spark that sustains a global revolution of everyday life.
