Russia Bans GMO Corn Over Cancer Fears as Pressure Builds on Monsanto
Following an explosive French study suggesting a link between Monsanto’s controversial genetically engineered corn and cancer, Russian authorities have temporarily suspended all imports and use of the biotech GMO product until further safety testing can be performed. Officials worldwide are reportedly investigating the matter as well.
Google Brazil Chief Arrested Over Political YouTube Video
After Google’s unit in Brazil refused to take down a YouTube video attacking a candidate in local elections, federal police took the search-engine giant’s Brazilian chief into custody for questioning. Apparently Google had been ordered by a court to remove the clip in question based on a decades-old law purporting to prohibit attacks that "offend the dignity or decorum" of political candidates.
Justice Department Trained Police to Link Political Activism With Terror
The Department of Justice is under fire after a leaked terror training presentation aimed at state and local law enforcement revealed that police were being trained to be suspicious of popular bumper stickers including some opposing U.S. government participation in the scandal-plagued United Nations and one urging people to know their rights. Even Americans who hold what the document describes as beliefs that “represent a fairly popular point of view” — pro-life activists, for example — were included in the controversial terror manual.
UN Chief Calls for End to Syria War; Obama Vows More Aid for Rebels
United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon called for an end to arms shipments to both sides in Syria’s brutal war between Western-backed rebels and the Bashir al-Assad dictatorship before the conflict spirals out of control. In a speech at the UN General Assembly, however, President Obama promised to continue supporting the jihadist rebellion with U.S. taxpayer funds until the Syrian regime surrenders. Other governments were divided on whether diplomacy or military intervention would be most appropriate.
Obama Decision on Islamo-Marxist Terror Cult Will Lead to U.S. Funding, Experts Say
After a multi-million dollar lobbying campaign that unlawfully enlisted top members of the bipartisan U.S. political class, the Obama administration decided that the Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MeK), an Islamo-Marxist terror cult notorious for murdering Americans, should no longer be on the State Department’s list of designated terrorist organizations. Experts say the decision paves the way to begin openly showering U.S. taxpayer money on the anti-American outfit in its bid to overthrow the Iranian regime.
EU in Final Phase of Destroying Democracy, Czech President Warns
As European Union bosses now openly push for the complete elimination of national sovereignty in favor of a so-called “federation” with its own army, liberty-minded Czech President Vaclav Klaus warned that the destruction of democracy and the nation-state within the EU has entered its final phases. The anti-communist hero has been sounding the alarm for years, but his recent remarks represent the most forceful warning yet about the looming threat posed by the budding supranational regime in Brussels.

While most Americans remain blissfully unaware, the United Nations “sustainable development” scheme known as Agenda 21 will affect virtually every area of life — and it is already here. A short new documentary about the UN plan, using the global organization’s own documents and other sources, explores the implications of this far-reaching agenda and what it means to you and your family.
Big Labor and Moody's Pounce on Ruling Against Wisconsin Union Law
After an activist judge in Wisconsin blocked parts of Gov. Scott Walker’s budget-reform law reining in the power of government-employee unions, Moody’s said the decision would negatively affect the credit rating of local governments even as pro-Big Labor politicians in at least one county sprang into action to keep taxpayers on the hook for another year. State officials, however, are already working to undo the damage.
On September 14, portions of the law, known as Act 10, were ruled “unconstitutional” by Dane County Circuit Judge Juan Colas — apparently known locally as “the left's lefty” for, among other reasons, his zealous support of Big Labor. Political insiders in Wisconsin told The New American that the case may have even been specifically routed to Colas so the ruling would be essentially pre-determined.
New York Times a “Propaganda Megaphone” for War, Says Former Reporter
The New York Times has essentially become a “propaganda megaphone” to peddle the establishment’s narrative — especially when it comes to war — charged foreign correspondent Daniel Simpson, who resigned from the paper in disgust. According to Simpson, the paper, which is often lambasted and ridiculed by conservatives and libertarians for its blatant “liberal” bias, is actually just a propaganda tool for the ruling establishment.
U.S. Economic Freedom Plummets to 18th Place Globally, Study Shows
Due in large part to an explosion of government spending and less secure property rights, the United States plunged to its lowest ever ranking on the Economic Freedom of the World report, dropping from second place out of 144 nations in 2000 to a humiliating 18th in this year’s annual survey. The global average scores, meanwhile, actually increased slightly.
