When Microsoft introduced the Kinect “controller-free gaming and entertainment” add-on for use with its Xbox 360 gaming system back in November, the intent was for the voice- and motion-activated device to make Xbox competitive with the popular Nintendo Wii system that has found parents and grandparents entering the electronic “virtual” game market as players rather than merely facilitators for their kids and grandkids.

A planned $150 million theme park in northern Kentucky, to be called the “Ark Encounter,” is prompting cheers from Bible-believing Christians and gasps of alarm from secularists who fear the attraction may cross the supposed line of “separation between church and state.”

marriageCalifornia’s Proposition 8, a state constitutional amendment passed by voters in 2008 that defines marriage as between a man and a woman, went before a three-judge panel of the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals December 6, as pro-family champions appealed an earlier lower court ruling that the amendment is unconstitutional. How the higher court decides the case could dramatically impact the laws and constitutional amendments in the scores of states that have come down on the side of traditional marriage. Currently only five states recognize “marriage” between homosexuals as valid, but should the appeals court uphold the lower court’s ruling that could change.

Are parents unintentionally over-dosing their children with over-the-counter (OTC) medicines? Apparently only costly studies by professionals at medical schools can answer that question, and, of course, only the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) can remedy whatever problem might exist.

churchA recent Gallup poll has found that Americans are beginning to go to church more than they have in recent years. The increase may be small, but according to the researchers, there is a trend throughout the nation that is finding more Americans attending worship services on a regular basis.

Without a doubt, pornography is one of the biggest businesses on the Internet, with an estimated $3,000 spent on Internet porn every second. And with some 370 million websites devoted to sexually explicit materials, online porn peddlers are raking in over $12 billion every year in sales of videos, photos, books, magazines, and other pornographic merchandise.

An advisory panel for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given its preliminary approval to a drug that the abortion industry is calling an “emergency contraceptive,” but which pro-life leaders charge is nothing less that an abortion-inducing agent similar to the already legalized RU-486 abortion drug.
