Catholic Bishops Fund Abortion
Catholic bishops nationwide are asking their flocks to fund an organization that promotes abortion, homosexuality, radical feminism, and a number of other liberal, anti-Catholic issues. This weekend marks the annual fundraising drive in parishes across the country for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), the charitable arm of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). The purported mission of the CCHD is to fight poverty, but a recent exposé by Bellarmine Veritas Ministry (BVM) revealed that the CCHD has for years been funneling grant money to leftist organizations.
HHS Promotes Embryo Donation
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has recently awarded $2.18 million in grants to launch a public awareness campaign about embryo donation and adoption. The organizations receiving portions of the grant money are Baptist Health Foundation, Nightlight Christian Adoptions, the National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC), Bethany Christian Services, RESOLVE Inc., and Rosenberg Communications. Embryo donation is a process whereby a woman donates her unused embryos after she becomes pregnant by in-vitro fertilization (IVF). The donated embryos can then be adopted by another woman who also undergoes IVF and raises the child as her own.

Inside the Texas Textbook Controversy
The Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) is embroiled in a battle over textbook content that, media reports claim, could dictate public school curricula nationwide. As the single largest textbook purchaser in the country, Texas is a major decision-maker regarding content of books available on the market, since publishers naturally cater to their most lucrative client. Republicans on the SBOE have made headlines in recent months overturning what they call a "subtle trend" toward liberalism and negativity about America in the high school social studies curriculum.
Texas Textbook Massacre
New textbook standards approved in Texas are poised to revolutionize public-school curricula nationwide, and liberal educators are furious. Every year the Texas State Board of Education revises a particular subject curriculum, outlining rules that school districts must follow in purchasing teaching materials with state money. Since Texas is the single largest purchaser of textbooks in the country, it holds sway over content of books available on the market to all states.

Burman announced his decision on Tuesday in Memphis, Tennessee, according to a press release issued by the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA). The family applied for political asylum because the government of Germany would not let them homeschool their children.
Obama's EEOC Attacks School's Religious Liberty
The president of a small Catholic college in North Carolina is in a standoff with the Obama administration’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) over demands that the school must offer contraception coverage in its employee health insurance. Belmont Abbey College President William K. Thierfelder says he will shut down his school before doing so, citing the Catholic Church’s prohibition on contraception and First Amendment religious liberty rights.
