As the Obama administration openly vows to use unconstitutional “executive orders” to further infringe on the right to keep and bear arms, gun rights activists, members of the law enforcement community, military personnel and others are pledging to resist. Everything from an armed uprising and nationwide civil disobedience to legal means of resistance like the courts and nullification is being openly discussed online and even in the establishment media.

While the Obama administration and some Democrat lawmakers plot ever more extreme assaults on the Second Amendment, state and local officials across the country are working just as hard to find ways to protect the gun rights of law-abiding citizens in their jurisdictions. One local Pennsylvania police chief is helping to lead the way, asking officials in his borough to pass an ordinance or resolution nullifying any unconstitutional attacks on the unalienable rights of residents.

While the “Assault Weapons Ban” and federal registration scheme pushed by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) has already sparked a nationwide outcry against Washington’s latest attempt to further infringe on the right to keep and bear arms, the Obama administration has made clear that its own full-fledged assault on Americans’ gun rights aims to go even further. According to news reports citing officials, a task force led by Vice President Joe Biden is developing a gun control “package” including broad executive and legislative actions that could gut what remains of the Second Amendment. Even some Democrats have called the proposals “extreme.” 

Federal Brazilian police and military personnel, some wearing the United Nations insignia, are forcibly relocating whole communities in Brazil at gunpoint under the guise of returning huge tracts of land to Indians whose ancestors were allegedly there at some point. Thousands of local residents who have lived in the area for decades or were even born there, however, are fighting back, with critics saying the government’s actions smack of Stalinism and may constitute crimes against humanity.

The Obama administration and its “fusion centers” were working with the privately owned Federal Reserve as well as state and local law enforcement to spy on “Occupy Wall Street,” according to heavily redacted Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) documents recently released under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). While the controversial “Occupy” movement sparked serious concerns, the actions and lies of authorities detailed in the files have also raised fears over an out-of-control federal government and its central bank partner.

President Obama and key members of his cabinet like Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, disgraced Attorney General Eric Holder, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, and UN Ambassador Susan Rice were all among the top ten most corrupt politicians in Washington for 2012, according to an annual list compiled by the non-partisan Judicial Watch. Also on the roster were several lawmakers including two GOP congressmen from Florida and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada).

Less than a month after governments debated ending online anonymity and other proposals to impose a global regulatory regime on the Internet at a United Nations conference in Dubai, the dictatorship ruling mainland China announced that all Web users would have to identify themselves with their full names. The new rules also mandate that “illegal” content — criticism of the regime, for example — be immediately scrubbed and reported to authorities.

Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California has stirred up a hornets' nest with her latest proposal to ban so-called “assault weapons” and standard capacity magazines while creating a federal registry of gun owners, complete with pictures and fingerprints. Analysts say supporting the measure would be “political suicide” for Democrats, and some opponents of Sen. Feinstein’s most recent assault on the Second Amendment are even asking the White House to put the far-left lawmaker on trial for treason. More than a few critics also suggested the move against gun rights could start another civil war.

The Obama administration is using taxpayer money to bribe state governments into accepting a dubious national education curriculum known as “Common Core,” and so far, the controversial campaign has flown largely under the radar. The national scheme, which is already arousing some serious opposition, is geared toward standardizing educational requirements in a move that critics say represents an assault on local control over the school system. Homeschooling groups are expressing concerns, too, and the outcry is growing louder every day.

British subjects have never had the broad protections for freedom of speech or the press that American citizens take for granted as guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, but historically, the United Kingdom has been a beacon for free expression when compared to the rest of the world. Today, however, the right to freely express oneself in the U.K. is increasingly under threat, as exemplified by hundreds of bizarre prosecutions in recent years. The debate is heating up, though, as lawmakers consider reforms that would expand or quash liberty.
